Perkasie’s award-winning Farmers’ Market opens for the season at 9am on June 3rd . The market will be open from 9am until 12pm each Saturday until October 28th. Local farmers and producers bring an abundance of produce, plants, flowers, herbs, meats, eggs, honey, cupcakes, baked goods, wines, spirits, and other foods, and local crafters bring skin care, home goods and home-spun craft items.
Visitors this year will find a longer market season, an expanded range of meats and other foods along with the same friendly community feel as in year’s past. The market calendar is already packed with special events. Opening Day celebrations on June 3rd include a visit from Sam Schmidthuber, talent show winner of the 2016 PA Farm Show, visiting Bucks County for one day before he heads to begin his Nashville tour.
Kids will be able to plant and take flowers, courtesy of the Perkasie Garden Club, and enjoy down-on-the-farm story times. Knife, scissor, clipper and tool sharpening services will be provided by guest vendor, Howe Sharp. Breakfast and lunch from The EGG truck. The Farmers’ Market was voted WINNER again in the 2017 Best of Bucks Happening List, making it the Best in Bucks for 2 years running. The market is grateful to QNB Bank for their continuing support.
“We’re very excited about this season. The success of last year’s market means that we are extending to a 22 week season” says Carolyn Hanel, the Borough’s Director of Parks and Recreation. “Winning the vote as the Best in Bucks for a second year is very rewarding. Perkasie Borough is thrilled to be able to support local farmers, businesses and crafters by presenting this excellent market for local residents and regional visitors.”
