Doylestown native P!NK, a.k.a. Alecia Beth Moore, accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award is presented at the MTV Video Music Awards to music performers, recognizing accomplishments in music and film. The first Vanguard awards were presented in 1984 at the inaugural VMAs, and renamed in 1991 in honor of Michael Jackson. Recent recipients of the accolade include Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Rihanna.

Pink has sold over 47 million albums worldwide, including over 16 million albums in the United States. Her career accolades include three Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, a Daytime Emmy Award and seven MTV Video Music Awards (including the Video Vanguard Award).
