There’s a place in Bucks County that offers an all-encompassing experience for women’s wellness – mind, body, and spirit. It’s the Center for Women’s Health. The Langhorne-based practice, which has a second location in Pennington, New Jersey, specializes in the complete care, daily well-being and professional support of women at every stage of their lives.
The Center has been designed with every woman in mind – mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and friends – to build long lasting relationships that help guide patients through all stages of life. Their expertise spans from a teen’s first menstrual cycles to the best methods of birth control and protection from sexually transmitted diseases to comprehensive obstetrical care to guidance through menopause.
The team takes pride in empowering women, focusing on assisting patients to make the best healthcare choices possible while also extending their trusted expertise to address a range of beauty and wellness needs.
While the group is widely known as a leading OBGYN in Bucks County, The Center for Women’s Health provides all-encompassing services, including Obstetric, Gynecology, Continence Program, Prenatal Ultrasounds, Nutrition, Weight Loss Program, Skin Care, Laser Treatment, Acupuncture, 3D Mammogram, and GyniGirls Support Group.
A crucial appointment that women should schedule annually is a gynecological exam, which is an important aspect of preventive health care. Many women fail to book their annual gynecological exam, which could be dangerous down the road. Medical issues are often first found through an annual exam. Early detection greatly increases chances for survival in diseases such as breast, cervical and ovarian cancer, which sometimes have very few early symptoms.
Something that the Center for Women’s Health offers that you may not know about is their Continence Program. Practice Administrator Christine Kolodi shares that their Continence Program gives individual treatment for for pelvic floor dysfunction and urinary incontinence. Women with urinary leakage, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, urinary frequency and fecal incontinence can come here, and they will treat patients with a variety of modalities including biofeedback and muscle stimulation.
A new service that the Center offers is their medically monitored Weight Loss Program, which is rooted in nutritional science. It works by getting your body to burn fat as its main source of energy and maintain your muscle mass which is important for maintaining your metabolism. The program is supervised by a team of medical professionals, including a physician, nurse practitioners, dietitian, and coordinator.
Beyond these programs, The Center for Women’s Health also works to provide a supportive environment for women facing serious health challenges. GyniGirls, a support group for women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers, provides a safe and supportive healing environment, meeting at 7 P.M. on the third Wednesday of each month. If you are interested you may call Chris Kolodi at 215-750-6611, ext. 131.
In addition to ongoing events and groups, locals can discover a number of special events at the Center listed on their website.
