In honor of Presidents' Day, take a look back at Bucks County's rich presidential history:

• General George Washington and men of the Continental Army and militia crossed the Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776 and marched to Trenton, New Jersey where they attacked and defeated Hessian troops quartered in and around the village. Each year, thousands gather on December 25th to experience a reenactment of this historic crossing. On the first Saturday of every month, visitors can also tour the Morrisville estate of Thomas Barclay which housed the future president during the war.

• Although Lumberville's loyalists at the Black Bass Hotel turned away George Washington during the Revolutionary Way, President Grover Cleveland did stay at the hotel many times while he was Governor of New York.

• The Pearl S. Buck House and Historic Site, the former home of the philanthropist and Nobel Prize-winning author, has received gifts and letters from John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and Eleanor Roosevelt, which are on display inside her historic estate.

• President John Quincy Adams is among the notable names that visited Commodore James Biddle's Greek Revival estate, Andalusia, a sprawling mansion along the Delaware River in its namesake neighborhood in Bensalem Township.
