Barcamp DoylestownTonight (well, by the time many of you read this, it will be “last night”), BH participated in the first-ever Barcamp Doylestown.  Never heard of a Barcamp?  Neither had we, until our friend Barry Peters looped us in. A Barcamp, otherwise known as an “UNconference,” is a crowd-sourced get together of people getting together to share ideas and information.  A little less structured than a conference, a little more structured than a happy hour or networking event.

In this case, 125 businesspeople, ranging from small entrepreneur shops (like us) to executives from Fortune 500 companies, got together to discuss topics like Social Media, Enterprise 2.0, Creating Community and Customers of the Future (to name a few).  All breakout topics were put forth by participants.  The attendees voted for their favorite topics, and the people who nominated their topics lead the conversations.

I have to say, I didn't know what to expect when I walked into the Moose Lodge in Doylestown Borough, but the night offered a great opportunity to network, meet new people, catch up with friends, and learn about some areas that are very closely related to my business. I know that the Barcamp Doylestown crew hopes to host other event in the future.  We highly recommend attending!!
