Come enjoy an evening of spooky tales, star gazing, and spectacular views at the 3rd annual 23 Steps event at Bowman’s Hill Tower on Friday, October 26th! The rain date is Saturday, October 27th.

At 380′ above sea level, the top of Bowman's Tower gives a commanding view of the Delaware River Valley below and of the surrounding countryside, including Jericho Mountain. Looking east toward the Delaware River, you can view the Thompson-Neely House and the Revolutionary War soldiers’ cemetery. The steep drive to the top winds through a thickly forested landscape, ending at the tower parking lot. It’s a great stopping point on your way to New Hope shopping or simply to enjoy the quiet view.

The evening will include a brief history of the tower, a reading from Adi-Kent Thomas Jeffrey’s Ghosts in the Valley: True Hauntings in the Delaware Valley, violin performances by Michael and Timothy Gehrsitz from Council Rock, Continental soldiers patrolling the perimeter of the property, refreshments & other items for sale. The highlight of the evening will be a trip to the top of the tower to view the surrounding countryside by moonlight and the stars through a telescope.

A limited number of tickets are on sale now for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. reservations. Tickets are $20 a person or $60 per family and can be purchased at the temporary visitor’s center or gift shop in Washington Crossing Historic Park (corner of Rt. 532 and River Road), or at Bowman’s Tower, located near the intersection of River and Lurgan Rds.

All proceeds benefit the Washington Crossing Park. To learn more about upcoming events in the park, follow the Friends of Washington Crossing Park on Facebook or Twitter @FriendsofWCP.
