Talk of the Town: The Eyesore of Sycamore no more?

For far too many years now, Newtown residents have had to endure the eyesore that was once ACME supermarket on Sycamore Street. Several rumored re-builds have come & gone, including a much discussed youth center. While Sycamore Street has flourished in recent years, with additions like the Green Parrot, Jules Pizza, and more recently, The Sycamore Grill, this dilapidated building just doesn’t seem to budge! The Saloon Restaurant even built a beautiful outdoor dining deck, which unfortunately is plagued by a view similar to the one pictured below.

However, earlier this year, locals regained hope as plans for The Promenade took a big leap forward, under the lead of local entrepreneur Jim Worthington. Plans include 2 structures – a one-story stand-alone building and a larger three-story building which will house Anthropologie, a large women’s clothing store, along with other retail tenants. On the second and third floors, there will be 26 rental apartments.

So, Bucks-ers, as we make our way through early summer, we want to know- are you excited for the Promenade plans? What would you ideally put in this prime location?
