We know it can be hard to think of new things to keep the kids entertained while being mindful to #stayhome these days. Here's a calendar with some themes/things to do on each day from April 6 through April 12. Do a few, do them all. Let them inspire ideas that work for your children's ages and interests. And be sure to check out some additional ideas and helpful links with fun activities and educational websites at the end.

Monday, April 6:

The weather is looking good, so take advantage of it! Play some games, jump rope, make your own sidewalk chalk, or do one of these outdoor ABC activities.

Tuesday, April 7:

YoYo from the popular local duo Lolly & YoYo is hosting a Virtual Kids Fitness Party from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Register in advance here. During the Zoom session, you’ll be doing tons of fun exercises, balancing into yoga poses and more. This class is geared for children ages 2-8. Find out more here.

If you miss Tuesday’s class, she’ll be doing it again Thursday and Sunday at the same time.

Wednesday, April 8:

Passover starts at sundown on Wednesday, April 8 this year. If your family celebrates Passover, you probably plan to celebrate the traditions as best as you can with your family in your home. And if you don’t celebrate Passover, it’s still a nice opportunity to learn about the holiday.

Friday, April 10:

It’s National Sibling Day! While your kids might be getting sick of one another after being together so much lately, it’s a great time to remind them of how lucky they are to have each other.

Have the kids make cards for each other listing traits they love about one another. Or maybe they could draw portraits of each other. Read books featuring siblings – like the Berenstain Bears! Or watch a movie that focuses on the love between siblings. Lilo & Stitch, Frozen, Parent Trap, Spy Kids and Little Women are all great options.

(If you only have one child, adapt to celebrate cousins or special friends! Be sure to FaceTime!)

Saturday, April 11:

Easter is tomorrow, so it’s time to decorate eggs! Here’s a link to 9 different ways to decorate them. And if you don’t want to use real eggs, you can pick up plastic ones at just about any grocery store, the dollar store or Target. Then use stickers, or try one of these ideas.

If you don’t celebrate Easter, you could still decorate eggs or maybe rocks to hide in the yard. Because, really, who doesn’t love an egg hunt?!

Sunday, April 12:

Happy Easter! For most families, this year’s holiday is going to look very different from other years. But you can still make the day special! Visit our Easter at Home Guide for lots of ideas.

And if you don’t celebrate the holiday, there are still fun activities that anyone could enjoy! Plus, there’s another YoYo virtual class at 11.
