“Remember that time?” As 2012 draws to a close, the Bucks Happening team has been reflecting on some of the biggest moments of 2012. There was much to choose from – locals competing in the London Olympics, BH TV's new webisode series, and a delicious tour of the fall flavors of Bucks were just a few of the fond memories shared. It wasn't easy, but our editors narrowed it down to 5 favorite happenings. 5. BH's 1st annual Happening List Red Carpet Bash: 350 of the most happening people in Bucks County celebrated the nominees, finalists, and winners of the 2012 Happening List competition. After getting dolled up in the Urban Allure VIP Lounge, Occasions/Memorable Affairs delivered a delicious array of passed hors d’oeuvres while the team from Jamie Hollander, the 2012 winner of the “Most Happening Caterer,” provided a beautiful crudite display table, highlighting their work with Heritage Conservancy’s Farm to Table event (winner of “Most Happening Foodie Event”). While the attendees sipped on their Russian Standard signature cocktailsBrooke Shive & the 45s, winner of the “Most Happening Musician/Band” took the stage twice to perform a few popular hits off of their new album. For dessert, OWowCow, winner of the “Most Happening Frozen Treat,” and Laurie’s Chocolates, winner of the “Most Happening Chocolatier,” provided irresistible ice cream and chocolates for the guests to enjoy.

4. The introduction of Happening Weddings: Bucks County's breathtaking landscapes provide an ideal wedding backdrop. Each year, brides & grooms come from near and far to the region to celebrate their big day.  In 2012, Bucks Happening launched a Bucks County wedding website to make it easier for couples to plan the perfect wedding day. Our Top 10 Wedding Reception venues and Cutting Edge DJs Lighting Contest were some of the top viewed articles of the year!

3. The community's perseverance through Superstorm Sandy: When Mother Nature tested us, Bucks County residents rose to the occasion.  Photos were capturedBusinesses lept into action to serve the community through black outsHalloween was postponedLove triumphed over devastation; and heroes emerged.

2. New business joining the community: In the trying economic climate of the past 5 years, it's wonderful to watch small businesses open as well as some of our favorite local businesses expand.  BH readers eagerly read about Doylestown's Sweet Spot, Yardley's Vault Brewing Company, Warwick's King of Tarts, Lambertville's Brian's, and New Hope's Jaffron. Plus, we can't forget one of the biggest revitalizations of the year, the triumphant return of the Bucks County Playhouse!
