Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse—for the people of WashTyme soaps, these are words to live by.  In a world that has become so blinded by how efficient we can be, we forget sometimes how important it is to consider the products we are using and what processes were used to make said products.  In many cases, there may be only one possible resource to make a product.  In most, however, recycled materials can be used to create very useful, everyday materials.  Wash Tyme is one of those products.

Dorinda Rumbold has created a line of soaps with your health in mind.  Andrew Rumbold and John Morano use recycled and filtered vegetable oil to make biodiesel for their homes and diesel vehicles.  They take the process one step further to create chemical free soaps.  By extracting the vegetable glycerine byproduct of biodiesel and adding natural shea butter and essential oils, Wash Tyme has created a natural hand soap, shampoo, body wash, laundry detergent, stain treatment, and kitchen degreaser.  There are no phosphates in their products and no added chemicals; this means it’s all natural.  Wash Tyme soap is biodegradable, filtered down to 10 microns (one human hair is 100 microns).  Are you getting the idea yet?

So, Wash Tyme does keep the environment in mind, both in process and in use, does not contain harmful chemicals, does contain Shea butter that relieves dry skin and eczema, and does work as multiple cleaning agents.  When asked about his motives behind creating this soap, Rumbold replied, “I want to make something that has the health of its buyers in mind.  So many products are used today because of efficiency, but really they are doing more harm than good.”  From cellophane snack wrappers to chemically enhanced household products, most of our purchases come at a price that sometimes we neglect to recognize, our health and the health of our environment.

The Wash Tyme group believes that if their product can move people towards change just a little bit, than they have done something special.  They are inspired to create products that benefit the local community as well as the country.  Their sister product, biodiesel fuel, pushes the notion that “No war is required” to get their fuel.  Wash Tyme, in turn, is currently is seeking help to aid in the problems in the Gulf Coast.  They have much more information about the cause on their website.  You can also purchase their various scented and unscented soaps there too!
