Worlds-Largest-Swim-Lesson

What: The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ Guinness World Record attempt for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson ever conducted.

When: 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 18, 2013 (event will begin exactly on time)

Where: Newtown Athletic Club, 209 Penns Trail, Newtown, PA 18940

Why: Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional, injury related death of children ages 1-4. Research shows that participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88 percent. However, research also shows that if a child doesn’t learn to swim before the 3rd grade, they likely never will. The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ was created to spread the word that Swimming Lessons Save Lives™

Jill Ritts will be available to talk about how her daughter Madison drowned and the steps parents and pool owners must take to keep children safer this summer. Visuals of children participating in the world record attempt lesson taking place simultaneously in 15 countries across five continents.
