Football Home Entertaining

Watching the game at home can be just as much fun as heading out to cheer your team on. You can turn any game-day into a party with the right atmosphere, drinks, and appetizers! Get ready for football Sundays with this home entertaining guide.

  • Food: If you’re watching the game at home, you’re going to need something to snack on in between plays. Dips are always the perfect thing to snack on during a football game. You can make them ahead of time and as guests arrive, heat them up (if necessary) and set them out for people to pick at. For your “main course,” think easy-to-eat finger foods, like sliders, burgers, hot dogs, or chicken nuggets. To make prepping for game-day even easier, have a local restaurant or grocer, cater for you. You can grab wings to heat up at home at Acme and Wegmans, which now both have beer and wine available.
  • Drink: If you’re watching the Eagles game, you’ll need to stock up on beer, and with the new PA Laws that means you can grab brews at the grocery store, or at shops around the county. If you’re hosting a game-day event, whip up a few Philadelphia Eagle cocktails for your guests to enjoy. To make a green delight mix up a double shot of 1 oz. rum, 1 oz. white tequila, and 1 oz. green apple schnapps and toast to an Eagle’s victory.
  • Décor: Convert your basement into an Eagle’s nest by decorating with green, white, and silver streamers. Display any team memorabilia you may have, including helmets, jerseys, and flags. Set up a table to serve food and drinks on, decorated with team logos and banners. Serve snack foods out of paper bags, just like you would get at the game. Require guests that are attending your showing of the game to show up in football gear, put on your Eagles jersey, and get ready for game time.
