Tree Lightings and Parades

Bristol Borough Tree Lighting

When: Friday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Bristol Waterfront Park, Mill Street, Bristol

The Bristol Borough Council invited the community to an old-fashioned Christmas tree lighting and caroling with Santa. You can also visit Santa for take-your-own photos at the Centre for the Arts starting at 7:30 p.m.

Doylestown Tree Lighting

When: Friday, November 29 with festivities starting at 5 p.m.
Where: 10 N. Main Street, Doylestown

This year marks the 105th annual tree lighting in Doylestown. The festivities begin with music from the Bucks County Gilbert and Sullivan Society and Central Bucks West Choir at 5 p.m. Santa arrives on a fire truck at 6:30 p.m. to light the tree. Afterwards, Santa will visit with children at his cottage at State and Hamilton streets.

The New Hope Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting

When: Sunday, December 1 at 11 a.m. (parade) and 5:30 p.m. (tree lighting)
Where: 182 W. Bridge Street, New Hope and 10 W. Ferry Street, New Hope

This holiday parade filled with dancers, bands, and organizations starts at 11 a.m. The parade begins at New Hope Solebury High School and makes its way to South Main Street. Later in the day, there will be the annual Christmas Tree event next to the Logan Inn. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will arrive around 6 p.m. Meet the Roxey Ballet’s ballerinas, listen to holiday music and more. And don’t forget to stick around for the fireworks finale!

Winterfest in Sellersville

When: Tuesday, December 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 2 N. Main Street, Sellersville

The 21st Annual Winterfest in Sellersville is a fun event for the whole community!  There is a Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m., and Santa arrives at the Sellersville Fire Company via fire truck at 6:45 p.m.  Trolleys take passengers around town to visit shops and businesses for a variety of activities, music and refreshments.  Community organizations have booths at the fire house with many holiday give-aways and treats.  Fare for the trolley is a canned good or cash, which will be donated to F.I.S.H. food pantry.

New Britain Annual Santa Arrival & Tree Lighting

When: Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Shops at Town Center, 200 Town Center, New Britain

Come out for an evening of festive fun! There will be dancers, singers, hot cocoa, snacks, and more! Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 7:30 p.m. (Bring your camera!)

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County

When: Friday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 2875 York Road, Jamison

BBBSBC is welcoming the public to their first-ever tree-lighting ceremony at the agency’s head office, which will be magically transformed into a winter wonderland. There will be kid activities, hot chocolate and cookies, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The main event of the evening (besides Santa!) will be the 12-foot tall, fully-decorated live Christmas tree.  Rachel Kurtz, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County’s CEO or Chief Elf Officer, will flip the switch, with the help of Santa and Mrs. Claus, at 7 p.m. This free event is appropriate for all ages. Santa does have one small request, however. In the true spirit of the holidays, he would like everyone attending the tree lighting ceremony to bring a canned food donation for The Food Pantry of St. John’s of Hatboro.  

Charles Dickens Night Langhorne Borough

When: Friday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 102 S. Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne

The Langhorne community will come together to celebrate the holiday season with bonfires, music, hot chocolate, treats and more. Santa will arrive at 7:30 p.m. to light the tree!

Quakertown Christmas Tree Lighting Festival

When: Friday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: 314 W. Broad Street, Quakertown

Quakertown's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is a family-friendly night out filled with Santa, hot cocoa, cookies, a live nativity scene, and everything else that makes the holidays special. Santa arrives at 7 p.m. sharp on a Quakertown fire truck, so get there early to claim a good spot.

Yardley Olde Fashion Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

When: Saturday, December 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: Yardley Borough, 56 S. Main Street, Yardley

The parade will run down S. Main Street in Yardley. It will step off at the American Legion, at 215 S. Main St. and end at Buttonwood Park. The family-friendly parade, which will include an appearance by Santa himself, will be followed by the borough's tree lighting in Buttonwood Park. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available under the pavilion at Yardley Borough’s own Santa’s Workshop. Santa’s Workshop will be open immediately after the parade and then again on the Saturday’s leading up to Christmas (December 14 and 21) from 4-6pm.

Perkasie Tree Lighting Ceremony

When: Saturday, December 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 620 W. Chestnut Street, Perkasie

Now in its 110th year, Perkasie is now officially the oldest community tree lightings in the United States. The celebration brings the entire family together as one lucky child gets to flip the switch that lights the tree. Enjoy other festivities such as photos with Santa, food vendors, free horse & carriage rides, live music, a strolling 10’ elf on stilts, a visit from Mary Poppins and Bert, and more!

Newtown Holiday Parade

When: Sunday, December 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 301 S. State Street, Newtown

Come out and find a comfy spot to watch this amazing holiday event. The parade promptly kicks off at 2PM from South State Street at the Stocking Works. It then continues north to Washington Avenue and makes a left turn, then turns right onto Sycamore Street. The Parade eventually ends at the corner of Sycamore Street and Durham Road.

Fallsington Tree Lighting

When: Sunday, December 8 starting at 2 p.m.
Where: 9300 New Falls Road, Fallsington

Enjoy an afternoon of holiday fun with the community! From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be various kid activities including crafts, face painting, snacks and a visit with Santa. At 6 p.m., there will be Christmas carols and the tree lighting. After the tree lighting, enjoy homemade snacks provided by the Saints Episcopal Church congregation.

Bensalem Tree Lighting and Visit from Santa

When: Sunday, December 8 at 5 p.m.
Where: Bensalem Township Municipal Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem

A Christmas Carol performed by Gerald Charles Dickens

Returning for his 16th year, renowned actor and great-great grandson of Charles Dickens, Gerald Dickens will be performing his spirited rendition of “A Christmas Carol” on the factory floor of Byers' Choice. During this energetic one-man show, Dickens brings “A Christmas Carol” to life. He leaps, he sobs, he laughs . . . as he entertains . . . depicting 26 characters of the classic tale, with just a table, wing chair, and hat rack accompanying him on stage. The performance is approximately 75 minutes and not recommended for children under the age of 8 years old. Jump City for the Holidays Concert at Bucks County Community College

When: Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Bucks County Community College, Zlock Performing Arts Center, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown

The 20-piece Jump City Jazz Orchestra, including two dynamic guest vocalists, will present yuletide stories and holiday swing in a musical event to please all ages. It might be cold outside, but you can warm your toes by tapping along to a fun, swinging program of holiday themed big-band music and seasonal readings from the greatest writers in literature. The concert takes place in the newly renovated Kevin and Sima Zlock Performing Arts Center. Parking is free. The theater is equipped with audio-loop technology for the hearing impaired. Before the concert, enjoy free hot cocoa and cookies in the lobby. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children, and free for Bucks County Community College students with current ID. In addition, a limited number of VIP tickets are available for $25, including a preconcert reception beginning at 6 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres and two glasses of wine or beer. It’s another Dickens of a murder! Despite hosting a murderous holiday party last year, which resulted in the murders of Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim, the Sawyers are going to give it another try. Elf for Grownups at The Newtown Theatre

When: Friday, December 13 from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Where: 120 N. State Street, Newtown

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. The second best way is to watch Elf with a good drink and great friends! This screening is only for elves 21 and older, and all guests will be asked to present photo ID at the bar. In addition to the screening of Elf starting at 9 p.m., each guest will enjoy one free drink (beer, wine, or a signature cocktail) and free popcorn throughout the night. Be sure to dress for the occasion. The best-dressed elf, as determined by audience voting, will win a special prize. You can also participate in a pre-movie trivia contest with special Elf-themed prizes. Tickets are $20 or $15 for Members.

Town and Country Players Presents Holiday Show

The Town and Country Players in collaboration with the James Michener Art Museum are proud to present a Holiday Show celebrating the holiday season. Ballet Arts of Bucks County presents Winter Wonderland

Santa Arrives at Shady Brook Farm

When: Friday, November 29 at 3 p.m.
Where: 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley

Santa will arrive by helicopter at 3 p.m. to kick off the Christmas season. He'll shake hands and hand out candy canes before taking his place in the greenhouse. Free admission to see Santa land. Photo packages are available for purchase.

The Doylestown Jingle Bell Turkey Trot and Santa’s Arrival

When: Saturday, November 30 at 9 a.m. (Santa arrives at 2 p.m.)
Where: The Market at DelVal, 2100 Lower State Road, Doylestown

This is the Third Annual Doylestown Jingle Bell Turkey Trot, hosted by the Market at DelVal! You can take part in the 10k, 5k, or the ½ mile fun run on Saturday November 30.The run takes place on the closed 202 bypass. Registration includes a PA draft beer or hot chocolate and a cookie, and spectators can enjoy inflatables and lawn games. Santa arrives at the market at 2 p.m. by helicopter. Christkindlmarkt: A Traditional German Christmas Market

Peddler’s Village Christmas Festival

There will be Santa Parades at 1:30 p.m. both days. Remember to visit the Annual Gingerbread House Display in the Village Gazebo! Shops are open until 9 p.m. on Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The Historic Bolton Mansion will be beautifully decorated for the holidays and ready to welcome visitors for a weekend of festivities. Friday night is the tree lighting. Saturday will feature a hearth cooking demonstration throughout the day and carolers at 4 p.m. And on Sunday, the Brasketeers will be playing carols on brass instruments. Santa will be there every day for free take-your-own photos. There will also be face painting with princesses, ornaments workshops and balloon art for an additional charge. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under.

Newtown Holiday Open House Tour

The 57th Annual Open House Tour gives visitors an inside look at the historic farmhouse that was once George Washington's headquarters after his victory at the Battle of Trenton. Formerly called “Christmas in Colonial Newtown,” this open house has been a treasured tradition for Bucks County residents. Tickets are available online and children under 12 get in free!

Ho Ho Ho Holiday Party hosted by Warwick Township

When: Saturday, December 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Warwick Community Park, 1733 Township Greene, Jamison

Gather with your neighbors and join Santa for hot chocolate and cookies. You can warm up by our fire, sit on Santa's lap for a photo, listen to music by the Jamison Elementary School Choir or make your own craft and Holiday card. Enjoy a performance by the Galena Brass Band. Back by popular demand are the Belgian horses and their carriage.

Washington Crossing Reenactment

Where: Washington Crossing Historic Park

Every December, the Friends of Washington Crossing Park organize the reenactment of the Christmas Crossing, when George Washington and his men crossed the Delaware on Christmas Day. Come and see authentically dressed military reenactors as they row across the river in replica Durham boats to celebrate our nation's history. Be sure to arrive early to get a good viewing space along the water! In addition to the crossing reenactment, special colonial-era activities and demonstrations in the Historic Village will offer a full day of family fun and learning. Get more information here.

Fonthill Castle Community Holiday Open House

Holiday Open House at the Michener Art Museum

The Michener Art Museum welcomes the community to their annual Holiday Open House. Area groups will present performances inspired by the holiday season. Stop by the Museum Shop for a great selection of gifts for the holidays.

Breakfast with Santa at the Newtown Athletic Club

When: Saturday, December 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: 120 Pheasant Run, Newtown

Come enjoy a warm holiday breakfast with Santa Claus & Frozen's Olaf! This event will be held in the NAC Brown Gym. It's open to the community and costs $10 per person (free for Members.) There will also be Hanukkah crafts and more! Get in the holiday spirit & donate a special gift to Toys for Tots!

 

Winter Fair at River Valley Waldorf School

When: Saturday, December 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: 1395 Bridgeton Hill Road, Upper Black Eddy

Celebrate the whimsy of the holiday season at River Valley Waldorf’s most magical festival. Featuring paper star making, candle rolling, a secret winter garden, King Winter and much more. There will be live music, food and desserts and an artisan market. Come join the fun!

Santa at the Doylestown Airport

When: Saturday, December 14 at 10 a.m.
Where: 3879 Old Easton Road, Doylestown

Come see Santa arrive by helicopter! If you'd like your child to receive a gift, please drop off a small, wrapped gift with the child's first and last name and phone number between Monday, December 9 and Thursday, December 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gifts must be smaller than 12″ x 12″ x 12″ and weigh 5 pounds or less. Sibling packages may be bundled together.

Jinglefest 2019 at Neshaminy Mall

When: Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 707 Neshaminy Mall, Bensalem (AMC Wing)

Come to the AMC Wing for a day of family fun! Mrs. Claus will be there from 11 a.m. to noon for a magic show, sing-along and storytume. Riley Irish Dance will perform at 1 p.m. Decorate cookies from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. And there will also be vendors, character meet and greets, balloon art and more.

Ugly Sweater Skate at Revolutionary Ice Gardens

When: Saturday, December 14 from noon to 2 p.m. or 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Wear your ugliest holiday sweater for the public skating session on December 14th and get in for only $5.00. Bring your camera for some fun pictures with friends and family. Skate rentals are included with admission.

Vineyard at Bishop Estate

The Lighting of the Vineyard at Bishop Estate

When: Saturday, November 30 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 2730 Hilltown Pike, Perkasie

Jordan White will be performing live from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. while Cajun Jax Food Truck will be serving delicious food from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. “Sip” back and relax by the fire pits or in the heated barn with a glass or bottle of your favorite wine. Order wine in the tasting room by the glass or bottle. Or try a wine tasting and pick 6 wines off the menu for $6 and you keep the glass. Or enjoy your wine by the flight! There will also be 3 local beers on tap for those non-wine lovers. Grab a glass of your favorite wine and enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (There is a cost for the horse drawn wagon rides.) At 8 p.m., they will be lighting up the vineyard to start the holiday season! 

Bucks County Wine Trail Holiday Celebration

When: Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8 from noon to 5 p.m.
Where: Wineries on the Bucks County Wine Trail

The wineries of the Bucks County Wine Trail will hold its annual Holiday Celebration on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8. Guests can experience the wineries decorated for the holidays while enjoying deliciously spiced wine tastings, sampling Christmas cookies and artisanal cheeses and relaxing with the sounds of holiday music. During the Holiday Celebration, visitors can also get a jump start on holiday shopping with special discount pricing, wine gift packs, gift baskets, and unique wine accessories. Danny DeGennaro Foundation Holiday Celebration Party

When: Saturday, December 14 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Where: Hurricane Jack's, 7759 New Falls Road, Levittown

The Danny DeGennaro Foundation is in the holiday gift-giving spirit – and hopes that music-lovers and supporters are ready to spread cheer on Dec. 14 as part of the Foundation’s Holiday Celebration Party. The concert fundraiser features Jim Mitchell and The Repeat Offenders, special guests SamStorm, Kevin Wilkes, Joey Sylvia and Will Lohr. Musicians Casey Welborn and Chris Benedetti will open the concert. Admission is free. A potluck and light food will be available. Raffles and 50/50 will also be available. Donations can be made through Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/donate/2411681702263228/. Facebook will match any contributions made on Dec. 3 as part of Giving Tuesday.

All proceeds will be used to cover tuition for aspiring musicians to attend a pair of three-hour songwriting workshops that Danny DeGennaro Foundation board member John Austin Mulhern will offer at Bucks County Community College this winter.
