The Thanksgiving Day 5 miler & 5K is a race organized by the Bucks County Road Runners Club (which is dedicated to the wellness, camaraderie, and support of the sport of recreational and competitive running and community involvement). All friends and families in the area are invited to come out and run together for both health and fitness and to benefit a number of great causes on this holiday. There is a 5 mile race, 5k and 1 mile fun run.

This year is Newtown's 1st Annual Turkey Trot. It is a family-friendly race that welcomes runners and walkers of all ages. The event begins at 9 am and everyone will receive a Finisher Medal and Shirt. This new community tradition is being held in memory of Officer Brian S. Gregg, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on September 29, 2005 while working for the Newtown Borough Police Department.
