In this season of gifting many of us are also thinking about how to give back to a charity, and often one right in our own communities. Unless of course you're Jim Worthington who is thinking about 52 charities! Jim's foundation, the NAC Have a Heart Foundation, serves both local charities and national causes all year long. The foundation's mission has always been to identify and raise awareness and funds for causes in our community which affect the quality of life of the members of our community and the world at large through both advocacy and fundraising. Last year they knocked it out of the park with their 52K in 52 week initiative.

52K in 52 Weeks in 2022

In 2022, The NAC Have a Heart Foundation awarded a $1,000 donation each week to a different charity, non-profit or urgent cause in Bucks County and the surrounding areas. Their goal was twofold, to “spread the wealth and spread the word” by sharing about their giving on our robust social platforms. This encourages others to support our community’s causes. The donation recipients say that “spreading the word” for them is priceless.

Through this effort they learned of the great need right here in our own community, and have been humbled by the passion and dedication of grassroots charity and advocacy for those in need.

This Year's Recipients

Their giving has run the gamut of causes including veterans, children without parents, local police forces, autism, special needs equestrians, domestic violence, Big Brothers and Sisters, Alzheimer’s, the Ukraine, cancer, drug abuse, local individual families suffering unspeakable loss and more. While the foundation supports many causes, it has focused on raising funds for ALS research (funds going directly to ALS TDI) and supports advocacy for causes that affect the terminally ill. To date, more than $5 million has been raised for Augie’s Quest through Matt’s Mission and the NAC. They also credit their members, the community, and their our business partners for their contributions.

What's Next for 2023?

As we approach the end of 2022, they plan to continue this program throughout 2023. The focus will continue to be on giving to charitable endeavors in Bucks County that meet the needs of our local communities.
