However, in the heart of bustling Newtown, there has long been a shortage of breakfast dining options to satisfy the locals. Those plans of a stress-free morning quickly fade away when you have to wait forever to sit down for breakfast. Luckily, now there is another option…
The Green Parrot, which has been a hot spot in Newtown ever since opening in 2009, is now offering an impressive (and cost-friendly!) breakfast menu. Having already met the demand for a great sports bar; expanded the town's lunch options; and created a unique atmosphere with a spacious porch and cozy fireplace, they're now setting out to create the ultimate breakfast experience.
Green Parrot's Florentine Omelet- Creamy spinach and Parmesan, $7
From 8am to noon on both Saturday and Sunday, breakfast is served with mouth-watering options like the Cast Iron Fritta (Baked eggs, peppers, onions, bacon, sausage & feta cheese, $7); Apple Walnut Pancakes (3 pancakes topped with apple cinnamon compote and walnuts, $8); and four types of Eggs Benedict. Beyond the tasty food, adult-diners can take advantage of the full-service bar by grabbing a brunch beverage- Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, or tasty craft beer (they had Firestone Walker, River Horse Pumpkin, & the almost impossible-to-find Pliny the Elder on tap when we stopped by); it's the perfect way to kick-off Sunday football!
