It's a busy weekend, full of events in Bucks County. One of Yardley's biggest events of the year, Yardley Harvest Day, is taking place this Saturday. Salsa Night Sizzle
When: Saturday, September 18th, 4 pm
Where: High Bridge “Commons”, 79 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ
High Bridge welcomes families and friends to this beloved annual event. The event is free and combines the sizzling sounds of Swing Sambroso, a nine-piece orchestra dedicated to Latin rhythms, along with free salsa dance lessons. Guests are encouraged to dance and celebrate. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and a happy spirit.
GermanFest at Byers' Choice
When: Saturday, September 18th, 10 am – 5 pm
Where: 4355 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA
Byers' Choice Ltd., makers of the handcrafted Caroler figurines, honors German heritage during a one-day celebration on Saturday. Master Wood Carver, Ringo Müller – fourth generation owner of the renowned Müller studio and maker of nutcrackers, smokers and Christmas pyramids -will travel from the German Erzgebirge region to demonstrate his craft at Byers' Choice. Müller Christmas nutcrackers and pyramids are cherished in homes around the world.
Germanfest is a family friendly event that offers German-inspired fare, and craft beer for sampling in the garden. The festival will feature vendors selling imported German merchandise, including traditional Paper Advent Calendars, authentic Oktoberfest clothing and accessories and more. Admission and parking are free.
Run Now Wine Later, 5K & Wine Festival
When: September 19th, 6 am – 11 pm
Where: Bucks County Playhouse, 70 S Main Street, New Hope, PA
Ring in the fall season the right way in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Run through the streets of one of the most charming, historic towns in Bucks County. All runners will finish at the entrance of the scenic Bucks County Playhouse which will mark the start of the food and wine tasting festival. Run Now Wine Later offers much more than your typical 5K. The carefully constructed course ensures that you will experience the full beauty of New Hope with a fun reward waiting for you at the end. Crossing the finish line is when the party starts! Sample some of the finest fare and wines New Hope has to offer while you enjoy the waterfront view from the Playhouse.

Center City District Restaurant Week
When: Saturday, September 18th – September 30th
Where: Center City District
Center City District Restaurant Week is back, starting this Saturday and running until September 30. Enjoy multi-course prix fixe lunches for $25 and dinners for $40 from more than 60 participating restaurants to dine outdoors, indoors or take home. However you feel comfortable, support your favorite Center City businesses and help restore jobs. Parking discounts have gone digital. While enjoying CCD Restaurant Week, park for $9 or less at participating facilities from 4:45 pm – 1:00 am.
Yardley Harvest Day
When: Saturday, September 18th, 10 am – 5 pm
Where: Yardley Borough, Yardley, PA
Located in Downtown Yardley Borough, Yardley Harvest Day is one of the borough’s most treasured and popular traditions. The event is scheduled, rain or shine, along Canal Street, E. College Ave., S. Bell and the field adjacent to Fitzgerald Sommer Funeral Home. Yardley Harvest Day will again be a family-oriented event, with something for everyone. In addition to a wide variety of handmade crafts & artwork, great food, local and civic groups and businesses, there will be live music and entertainment in the field. This is a free family friendly event. What once began as a small local Yardley event has now become one of THE largest events of the year, don't miss out!
Craft Marketplace at Pennypacker Mills
When: Saturday, September 18th, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
Where: Pennypacker Mills, 5 Haldeman Road, Schwenksville, PA
The Friends of Pennypacker Mills, a Montgomery County owned historical site, is holding its 10th Annual Craft Marketplace. Start your holiday shopping now. There will be over 90 carefully selected, skilled craftsmen to fulfill your every need and desire. The only handcrafted items include unique sterling and gemstone jewelry, wire and bead jewelry, an abundance of beautiful fabric crafts and clothing, woolen wear made from alpaca, angora and llama, bird houses and feeders, pottery, baby items, soaps and balms, leather work, unique home decor and so much more. Visit the website to see a complete list of crafters. After shopping, visit the food vendor, there will be BBQ, hoagies and wraps. Take a tour of the unique 20th century mansion. All proceeds go to benefit Pennypacker Mills. The event is free.
Riegelsville Public Library Used Book Sale
When: September 17, 18 & 25
Where: 615 Easton Road, Riegelsville, PA
The early bird book sale is on September 17th from 7 pm – 9 pm with a $10 donation at the door. The book sale on Saturday, September 18th and 25th will have $2 hardbacks, trade paperbacks $1 and paperbacks $0.50. There will be a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction and children's books – donated items and weeded library items. Newtown Fire Association Beerfest 2021
When: Saturday, September 18th, 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Where: The Stocking Works, 410 S State Street, Newtown, PA
This Saturday, breweries from all over head to Bucks County for the 12th annual Newtown Beerfest. The event features unique brews, beer tasting seminars, live tunes, tasty eats from local restaurants and good old fashioned companionship. It’s the perfect place to mix and mingle with beer buffs from around Pennsylvania and beyond. All proceeds benefit the Newtown Fire Association.

“Craft of Writing”: A Workshop for Writers
When: September 21st, every other Tuesday for 7 sessions, 6 pm
Where: Frenchtown Book Shop, 28 Bridge Street, Frenchtown, NJ
Writing a novel, memoir, play or short story? The Craft of Writing is an in-depth series of professionally-led workshops for writers seeking to improve their skills. The group meets every other Tuesday at 6 pm. The first workshop, “Get Writing, Get Published,” is free of charge. The instructor is an award-winning novelist and writing mentor, Kathryn Craft. The cost of the 7-session series is $175. Students may also attend individual sessions, space permitting, at a fee of $30 per class. Attendance is limited to 12 students. Books written by Craft of Writing subscribers will be favored for Local Author Spotlights at the Frenchtown Bookshop.
Cultural Streaming Series – Schubert's Trout Quintet

Five young musicians—all well on their way to establishing themselves as renowned international artists—came together to play Schubert's “Trout” Quintet in London's new Queen Elizabeth Hall. Their names: Daniel Barenboim, Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Jacqueline du Pré, and Zubin Mehta. Streaming video of recorded show. The show is 55 minutes, free and open to the public.
