First Friday West Philly Art Exhibit Opening

Make the trip to the city this weekend for the monthly open house of galleries with featured artist Flygirrl! Flygirrl, Stacey Wilson, is a master of several creative trades. She continues to focus on nurturing and growing her skills within different facets of art and illustration. Her acrylic and ink works of urban/comic book/graffiti-esque have snuck on the scene more, with her art being highlighted on MTV's The Real World Philadelphia. Blossoming into an incredible muralist, her work was recently showcased through The Tiny Room For Elephants Festival. Her two murals from 2018 and 2022 currently live at The Fillmore.
For over 25 years now, Stacey has helped shape the creative arts and nightlife communities in Philly and abroad. She was named Philadelphia Creative Ambassador by the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Board and featured as the original resident artist at Cherry Street Pier. Beer Garden Fun

56th Annual Polish-American Family Festival and Country Fair

This five-day celebration is full of fun, heritage, and time spent well with your family! Bringing in over 25,000 visitors a year, the festival is the region’s largest Polish-American festival. Stroll around and enjoy amusement rides, live entertainment, and more. Don’t miss the polka and disco bands, and Polish folk dance groups while you’re there as well! Admission costs $12 per person.
See a Play at the Bucks County Playhouse

See Dames at Sea in New Hope for a fun musical on the holiday weekend. A story about a woman coming all the way to NYC from Utah for her first Broadway show, only to find out hours before the show that the theater is being demolished. The show must go on, right? Find out how Ruby and the rest of her cast manage to open up the curtains. Tickets are starting at $70 and are available for purchase here.

Labor Day Celebration with Sesame Place

Take an expertly guided tour through Buck’s beloved town of New Hope! Get your walking shoes on to see landmarks and hear stories about how New Hope is the town it’s today. The tour is about a mile long and lasts about one hour. It’s $10 per person and the tours meet at The Parry Manion Museum — home of Benjamin Parry, known as the “Father of New Hope” — which you can also tour. Get your tickets here!

Drive into the city for the last weekend of Eastern State Penitentiary's night tours! Enjoy happy hour before your night tour with Triple Bottom Brewing Company for a drink and a snack while relaxing outdoors. Interact and learn about the history of the penitentiary through trivia, letter-writing, poetry, and art. Last but certainly not least, take in the views of Eastern State at dusk through a tour of the grounds. Tickets are available online here or at the door, but it's cheaper and recommended to purchase tickets online in advance.
