Do you remember the days of summer camp and dance class? Of karate lessons and softball practice? Now that it's summer time it's hard not to look back on those days when staying in shape was just as easy as hanging out with your friends. As an adult it's not quite so simple, or is it? Instead of schlepping off to the gym day in and day out, why not try a fitness routine that is fun and surrounds you with people who enjoy being active just like you.

Barre_023Lauren Ziel, native of Newtown and owner of the barre3 location on Eagle Road in Newtown as well as a newer location in Doylestown, explains. “You've got to try it. We can explain it and tell you all the great benefits and even show you what we do in class, but you've got to just get in there and take a class. Then you get it. All the fear slips away, you take a deep breath, and you have fun! It's not ballet. It's not yoga. It's not Pilates. It's barre3. No experience needed. The hour flies by and when you're done, you'll leave walking taller, feeling better, and wanting to do it again. Seriously.”

“People in Newtown are cool, easy going, genuine people.” Lauren says, she chose to open her studio in Newtown simply because it's where she's from, “It's really cool to own a business in the town you grew up in. I have a lot of great memories right there in the shopping center where barre3 is located. Like playing pool at the Newtown family fun center, that is now Pier 1 Imports and walking to Hickory Hut after high school.”

Whether you already have a workout buddy or you're looking to find a few, barre3 is the perfect place to do that. “The greatest part of my job is the relationships. Not just the ones I've formed, but watching friendships blossom in the studio, seeing people connect before class starts, noticing a client making someone new feel comfortable. We laugh, we cry, and we support each other. It's a connection that is hard to find elsewhere” Says Lauren.

Barre_045In the years since opening her studio, she's affirmed the fact that this workout is great for the residents of Newtown, “We truly have the best clients!” Lauren says. After opening in Newtown Lauren found that quite a few of her clients lived and worked between Newtown and Doylestown so the location of her second studio was a no-brainer and the two locations work very well together.

“The Newtown studio has 2 studios within it so we are able to run two classes at once. There is pretty much a class time to fit everyone's schedule! Plus, a membership in Newtown is also valid at Doylestown!” Lauren explains.

Barre_072In addition to a membership at both studios clients have access to the online classes as well so if you are thinking that summer might not be a great time to start a new routine because of vacations and time with family Lauren explains why that is just not the case.

“There are a couple reasons to try barre3 this summer. One, it's an hour. You're in and out. No distractions. No chatting by the water cooler or waiting for the treadmill. One hour of multi-tasking your body. Two, come in out of the heat and humidity and go barefoot! No hot sneakers and sweaty socks. The strength and endurance you build in barre3 will make all your other summertime activities that much better. We will help you balance your body, lengthen, strengthen, and tone. Lastly, you can do barre3 anywhere. So when you buy a barre3 membership, you get free online access to hundreds of barre3 workouts that you can do at home, down the shore, by the pool, in the park, on vacation, wherever! We'll keep you moving all summer long.”
