The whole affair is intimate with just five instrumentalists and five vocalists. Music is the focus of the evening, giving listeners previews of Broadway shows through solos, duets, group numbers, and instrumental pieces. There is certainly something for everyone. You have the more classic Broadway musicals [Cats], those that are recognizable to all [Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella], comedy musicals [Spamalot], and more modern works [Wicked].
After the show, I got a quick word in with Lauren Cupples, one of the vocal performers from the evening. Previously appearing in Bristol Riverside Theater's production of Pirates of Penzance, she has experience with a Bucks County audience. When asked what she thought of performing in Bucks, Ms. Cupples said that she always felt welcomed to the stage and the crowd has always friendly.
The show is continuing on through August 25th with evening performances as well as matinees.
