Celebrate the Blues in Bucks

This Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 11 am – 7 pm the Bucks County Blues Society presents The 28th Annual R&B Picnic at Snipes Farm. For a prepaid donation of $36 for adults and $20 for children ages 3 – 13 (under 3 free), attendees will enjoy a killer jazz line up including:

Horn-propelled blues, soul, and funk from Washington, D.C., Jr. Cline & the Recliners

Canada’s top touring blues act, Northern Blues Records’ guitar virtuoso JW-Jones Band

Funky zydeco and jaunty R&B from the Bayou for your dancing pleasure, Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble

From Delaware County, spicy blues originals and high energy covers, Porkroll Project

Opening the Blue Thursday stage, a “Blues Duo Showcase” featuring Mikey Jr. & Matt Daniels and Joe Becton & Kool Jazz

Tickets include a range of refreshments including summer barbecue favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs, & corn-on-the-cob plus Philadelphia soft pretzels, watermelon, chips, bottled water, cans of soda and iced tea. As the event is a BYOB for 21 or older, BCBS will also be providing free ice for coolers but requests patrons bring chairs, tables, blankets, and other supplies.

The Bucks County Blues Society is encouraging people to purchase tickets in advance due to limited space (tickets at the gate will be $40 for adults & $20 for children). Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older.
