Bucks County is pulling out all the stops this holiday season; our calendar and holiday guide are more packed than ever with shows, art exhibitions, historic happenings, and so much more!  We know how busy the holidays can be so we've narrowed it down to showcase a few of our picks of the week. Check it out:

Both December 3rd and 4th at 7pm, Bucks County Community College holds it Biannual Student Comedy Showcase! A cast of more than a dozen eager student performers are out to win your comedic hearts in the biannual comedy showcase, Momentarily Yours: An Entire Show Written on the Wind and the Water! The show is directed by Bill McLaughlin, himself a comedy veteran, who has taught improvisational performance at his alma mater for more than five years. He honed his comedy craft in Chicago under the tutelage of the famous Del Close, and spent the next 25 years performing improv in New York City. The cast will perform short- and long-form comedy improv based on audience suggestions, so it's never the same show twice! Admission: $5 general admission 215-968-8425

See "Once Upon a Mattress" in Morrisville

This weekend, the Morrisville-based Actors' NET of Bucks County continues its fifteenth season with a special holiday presentation of the family favorite Once Upon a Mattress, a delightful musical comedy version of the beloved fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.  Admission: $20 adults/$17 seniors/$10 children 12 and under 215-296-3694

On Saturday evening, Crossing Vineyards hosts the 2nd annual “Save the Crossing Park” fundraiser. Attend for an evening of fun, music, spirits, heavy hors d'oeuves and a live auction with the funds raised to support the park and the annual Christmas Day Crossing. Come and bid to cross the Delaware in the Durham Boat with George Washington and crew and other great items.

As seen on “The Tonight Show” and Comedy Central's “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, Ph.D. antiques appraiser, nationally syndicated columnist, author, and award-winning TV personality, Dr. Lori will be our guest for a public lecture on antique Christmas items on Saturday, December 4th from 11am-noon. It is free to attend but if you would like to have a Christmas item appraised, please call 215-822-6700 to purchase a ticket. The cost per item appraised is $10. So bring in your family heirlooms, yard sale bargains and long-lost items found in the basement or attic! Dr. Lori will reveal the fascinating truths about these finds.

Saturday morning, stop by the Open House at the Canal Works.   Join the Artists of Bristol for a wonderful open studio tour held at the beautifully renovated and restored Canal Works building in Bristol. The Canal Works is not only a unique and historic 19th century mill in the heart of a resurgent Bristol Borough, but it also has outstanding artist studio space available for rent. Participating artists will be donating a portion of their sales to benefit “ArtRageous,” the youth program at Bristol Riverside Theater. Begin the holiday season at the beautiful Fonthill Museum on Sunday December 5th from 12-4pm. Enjoy Fonthill’s holiday decorations during our ground floor open house. Sip hot cider and enjoy and make a handmade ornament. Help decorate the tree with a handmade ornament at the Tile Works and enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, holiday music, and a visit with Santa. Attend the annual Holly Nights Festival at Penn's Manor

Add some holiday cheer to your week on Thursday at 5:30pm with Pennsbury Manor's Annual “Holly Nights” Celebration.  A tradition for over 35 years, these two enchanted evenings are filled with the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Grab your coat, gather family and friends and join in the celebration as William Penn's 17th-century plantation comes alive! Demonstrations of open hearth cooking, blacksmithing, joynery, and soap making by colonial craftspeople dressed in period clothing will be ongoing throughout the evening. Continue along the pathway to the Manor House where guides will greet you in colonial dress for a candlelit tour of the Manor House; decorated for the holidays. Stop by the stable and take in a traditional 17th-century Mummer's Play performed by the role players. To add to the festive flavor of Holly Night, music will be provided by a variety of musical and vocal ensembles.
