Welcome to the first official weekend of summer 2011! Having just marked the summer solstice, this weekend will pack in some of the longest days of the year, which means there is extra time to be out and about. On Thursday, June 23rd from 7-9 pm, Isaac Newton's will be welcoming Gary Rosen from the Blue Point Brewing Company from Patchogue, Long Island to showcase their great beers! We will be featuring the RastafaRye Ale (7.5%), Fresh Hop Pale Ale (5%), and the extremely limited No Apologies Imperial IPA (10%) on draft plus Gary will have samples of other beers in their great portfolio. For each Blue Point beer you purchase, you will be entered to win a growler to be filled with your choice from one of the Blue Point drafts. 

Do you love shows like The Jersey Boys? It's the last weekend to attend Bristol Riverside Theatre's Great Balls of Fire: A Legacy of the Fifties. The songs of the Fifties were feel-good tunes, genuinely reflecting the mood of post war America. Artists like Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis dominated the music charts and changed pop music forever. Relive this nostalgic time as Keith Baker and the BRT Band open the summer musicale season with favorites from the fifties like Hound Dog, Great Balls of Fire and Jailhouse Rock.

On Friday, June 24th the Friends of the Delaware Canal along with the Landmark Towns of Bucks County, and the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor will be hosting a FREE concert as part of the Delaware Canal Festival.  The concert featuring the “Cabin Dogs” is being held at the Bristol Lagoon (Jefferson Avenue) beginning at 7:00 PM.

This weekend is the Cycle Bucks County event, happening this Saturday, June 25, from 8am to 4pm at New Hope Solebury High School. Cycle Bucks County is a one-day charity bicycle tour designed to raise funds and community awareness for two Bucks County organizations, whose missions are focused on furthering education and opportunity for all, The Tara L. Riedley Foundation & the New Hope – Solebury Community Association. The bicycle ride is also an opportunity for socialization either as a participant or as a volunteer, with folks from your community with similar interests in cycling and related activities. There area  variety of trails designed for different levels of riders.  Cost is $50 per family (two adults/2 children).

It's the yard sale of all yard sales! This Saturday, June 25, from 8am to 1pm, Raintree & Windermere communities in Newtown are hosting a community wide yard sale. Lots of families are participating with items including furniture, baby cloths, toys, housewares and much more!  Developments are located off Lower Dolington Road in Newtown, Bucks County, PA. Use intersection of Lower Dolington Rd. and Standford Drive in Newtown for GPS coordinates.

On Sunday, June 26th, celebrate summer at the Butterfly Festival at The Market at Del Val in Doylestown from 10am to 3pm. Ejoy making crafts, learning about butterflies from “The Butterfly Guy,” Rick Mikula, and stay for the live butterfly release. Admisison is FREE!
