If you've ever driven the 8500 block of New Falls Road in Levittown, chances are good that you've noticed the painted hearse outside of ScarePros Halloween shop. Owner Chris Sembrot owns the popular Halloween destination and Christmas Wonderland, but he's currently dedicating his attention to the severe shortage of protective gear for hospitals, healthcare workers and first responders in the area – those on the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of his business, Sembrot has connections with 200 vendors and manufacturers in China. Through a partnership with two of the factories, he is able to purchase the much-needed N95, KN95 and 3-layer procedural masks at below normal wholesale. Using his own funds, he was able to purchase 2,000 respirator masks and 1,000 surgical masks that are arriving this week from China. Once they arrive, he will be donating them to area medical staff who are dealing with shortages and supply rationing.

How You Can Help

So far, Chris Sembrot and ScarePros has donated masks to staff at St. Mary Medical Center, Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Capital Health and St. Christopher's Hospital. But he's hoping to purchase thousands more. This is where he needs help. He's asking the community to help raise the needed funds so that he can use his connections to get these desperately needed supplies. You can send via PayPal using the email fright@scarepros.com. Put “hospital masks” in the note area. Or, visit the gofundme page. 100% of all donations will be used to purchase and donate masks. If budget allows, he will also be getting other necessities like nasal swabs, gowns, hand sanitizer and face shields.

As on March 26, the gofundme has raised $1,855.
