Beginning Monday, June 24, the Bensalem and Levittown branches of the Bucks County Free Library will offer free lunches to children 18 years and younger.

The branches will serve lunch four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12 to 1 p.m. The program ends on August 15.

Children do not have to apply or register for meals.

Summer Food Service Program

Children can visit the library and enjoy a delicious and nutritious meal as part of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), a federally funded program run by the USDA. SFSP ensures that children from low-income areas continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Meals served through the SFSP require servings of grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables, and milk.

BCFL is partnering with the Bensalem Township School District, a sponsor of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), to provide the meals.
