Harrison Kratz

A few years ago, while eating a gelato in Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy, I met a family from Yardley. Wherever I go, I always seem to meet people from our area.  I'm not even very surprised when it happens anymore!

So when  Brad Ericson, a Drexel student, won the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the Entrepreneur Magazine Growth 2.0 Conference in Miami, Florida, I half-expected to meet some Bucks-ers. And we did. Harrison Kratz, the PR guru behind Brad Ericson and fellow Drexel student, is a Yardley native.

Here is our interview with Harrison. He is one of the most inspiring college sophomores around!

BH: Harrison, why don't you introduce yourself?
HK: My name is Harrison Kratz, I'm a sophomore at Drexel University.  I have been a Yardley resident for my whole life and I graduated in 2008 from Pennsbury High School.

BH: From Pennsbury to PR. How did you make the jump?
HK: While at PHS, I was the captain and Team MVP of the Boy's Varsity Soccer Team.  Due to injuries, I stopped playing, and I have turned my focus to public relations.  I have been the manager for local hip-hop artist and Pennsbury grad, Manny “EazzY” Scott since August, 2009 . I enrolled at Drexel University, where I am currently a sophomore, and I have hit the ground running.  I have been focusing on gaining as much experience as possible.

BH: So what type of PR experience have you had so far?
HK: I am currently the Public Affairs Intern at the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center in Philadelphia.  I am the Regional Networking Leader of the Drexel Public Relations Student Society of America, and an Account Executive at the student-run 33rd Street Public Relations.  I am also a member of the Drexel Marketing Association and I am on the Executive Board for the Dac Pack, the Drexel Athletic Fan Group.  Through these experiences, I have developed my own business, Kratz PR and Management.  Currently, my client portfolio includes Kid's MusicRound of Cherry Hill

and 3SecondReceipts LLC; whose CEO, Bradley Ericson, a fellow Drexel sophomore, was just honored as Entrepreneur Magazine's College Entrepreneur of 2009.

BH: Wow! You've already made a lot of headway. What's next for Kratz PR and Management?
HK:  I am in talks with other potential clients from locations as far as Miami, FL.  Kratz PR and Management is a small firm as of now, but it is growing fast and is ready to talk to anyone about their PR or management needs.  Our slogan is “Because YOUR image is everything.”

Harrison is excited to help local businesses.  Those who are interested in services can call  267-393-1990 or e-mail at harrison.kratz@gmail.com. You can also follow Harrison on Twitter at www.twitter.com/KratzPR.
