Kirk Kelly is an actor from Langhorne, PA who is off to a brilliant start in his Hollywood career.  He started off working on the production side of movies like Lady in the Water & Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but is beginning to appear on the other side of the camera.  Make sure to check out The Last Airbender this July to see Kirk in a small role alongside his brother, Corbin Kelly, and tune into the NBC Drama Garza which is set to appear in NBC's fall line up.

I've lived in Bucks County just about all my life, having grown up in Yardley and graduated Pennsbury High School Class of 2006. I am currently attending Full Sail for a Masters Degree in Entertainment Business with a graduation set for 2012.

Did you get your start working with any local productions?

Yes, I got started in the production end of movies through my dad, who works on motion pictures.  Being around him and assisting on set got me some experience.  I got to jump into the acting side a few years ago, first doing small roles but now working my way up to some big auditions and roles for the coming months.  I, however, got my start back in Pennsbury middle school where I was awarded for doing production work on the musicals. During my last show of my senior year at Pennsbury, I vowed to be on stage for one, and was a police officer in the musical “The Boyfriend”.

How did you make the leap into television & films? How did you get involved in writing scripts?

I first did a  TV show did called “The Verdict” which was when I made the jump from production to acting.  It was a background talent role, but I enjoyed doing that and have been landing roles throughout the area in small productions and even movies. I started writing scripts in a 10th grade Spanish class;  I did not like the teacher or the class so started to write my own scripts while in there.  I am also working with teams of writers around the area and country to producer a few films within the next 3 years.

Would you say that your Bucks County roots have helped at any point in your career?

I feel that if it wasn't for the State of PA having a Film Tax Credit, and Bucks County letting M. Night  Shylamian film his movies  in the area, I would not be doing any work on any movie at all. When “Lady In The Water” started to film in the area, my dad got on the movie sets working in production, and this has allowed me to get the “in” with the entertainment business that I needed, and I've been doing great ever since. This year I plan on transforming from my everyday job to going full time in the entertainment business and acting more with my agents in NY and LA.

When would you say was your proudest moment in your career so far? And your most challenging?

The proudest moment I have had was getting my first audition and call for a film and TV show; it was a great moment. The most challenging aspects are the ever-changing film and TV business and also not knowing when the next  movie will be around. However, knowing that auditions are happening daily everywhere from NYC to PA to LA, I am assured that there is always work; you just gotta find it.

I see right now that you have your address listed as Langhorne/Hollywood. Has it been difficult to balance that?  How often do you fly back and forth?

I am living in Langhorne currently and do fly back to LA when needed for work. I will be in PA for 6-12 months before leaving to live full-time in Hollywood. I am however flying to LA in June for the MTV movie awards, and July and Aug for a TV show (in talks with now but can't say) and will be there for the Teen Choice Awards in August.

How would you compare your life in Langhorne to your life in Hollywood?

Out in Hollywood life is nonstop, busy at all hours. I like that it is less busy in Langhorne but will take the Cali weather over PA weather any day.

What's your favorite spot in Bucks County?

My favorite spot in Bucks County…home. Other favorites are the cigar shop in Newtown where I hangout with the crew or the golf course. I am usually with my brother, family or my entourage while hanging out out at the local pizza shop in town.

What is in the future for Kirk Kelly?

The future is looking good for me. I am in talks and have auditions lined up for some big roles in major motion pictures. Also, I plan on opening up my own talent agency/casting office in Bucks county as well out in LA within the next 5-10 years, could be sooner or later depending on how the acting work goes. This summer I have a lot of big things lined up and in the works and am also working on producing a few short films and 2 feature films.  I also plan on to continuing to work on my acting and writing skills so that I can be the next big thing out of our area. Other than that, I plan on settling down either in LA or PA to start a family. Until then I am just going to keep doing the acting and production work.
