Haven't made weekend plans yet? Here's a list of events happening in Bucks County and the surrounding areas this weekend. The fall running season has begun and there's two races taking place this weekend, the Foodshed 5K and the Scarecrow Shuffle. The Mercantile at Doylestown is holding a Hint of Pink Masquerade Gala to raise money for local breast cancer patients. Check out what's happening this weekend below.


A Hint of Pink Masquerade Gala

When: Saturday, October 16th, 6 pm – 9 pm
Where: Mercantile at Doylestown, 444-446 N. Main Street, Doylestown, PA

This Saturday, A Hint of Pink Masquerade Gala is taking place at the Mercantile at Doylestown. There will be live music, artisan bites from Servis Events and others, as well as a dessert table. Triple Sun Open Bar is from 6 pm – 7 pm, with Moss Mill Brewery Specials. There will be silent auctions as well. This Gala is to drive awareness, raise money and celebrate our local breast cancer community. Funds will be raised for Pine2Pink, a local community driven Bucks County 501(c)(3) non-profit that takes over towns during the month of October to raise money for local breast cancer patients. The money raised stays local to help those in need during treatment, recovery and beyond.

5K Run for Our Farms

When: Saturday, October 16th, 9 am
Where: Delaware Valley University Campus, 700 E Butler Ave, Doylestown, PA

Participate in a 5k run, 3k walk and scavenger hunt for the kids. This events presents an opportunity for everyone to ‘vote with their feet' for local farms and local food by helping Bucks County Foodshed Alliance promote a thriving local food system throughout the community. All proceeds benefit the activities and public events of Bucks County Foodshed Alliance, including the Small Farm Grant program that awards small grants to small farms to make a big impact. You can also support the event, promote your business or organization and advance the BCFA's mission by becoming a sponsor for the Foodshed 5k. Register here.

Fall Festival Weekends at Charlann Farms

When: Saturdays & Sundays through October 31, 10 am – 5 pm
Where: 586 Stony Hill Road, Yardley, PA

Come enjoy fall on the farm. Activities include pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, bounce houses, an obstacle course, a corn pit, live animals, and pony rides (additional fee). Each child receives a sugar pumpkin to decorate at the painting station. Tickets are available online at the website.

Coffee & Card Making

When: Saturday, October 16th, 10 am – 12 pm
Where: Union Street Studio, 224 N. Main Street, Doylestown, PA

Reserve a seat on Saturdays from 10 am – 12 pm at ussdtown.com to personally craft 10 cards with envelopes and have fun while doing it. A variety of crafty supplies are available to use and share. Come and connect with your friends or yourself. Free Starbucks home brewed coffee is available to help fuel your imagination.

Souderton Block Party

When: Friday, October 15th, 6 pm – 9 pm
Where: Souderton – corner of Main and Chestnut

Join the businesses of Souderton for an outdoor, in-person event on October 15th, part of the 3rd Fridays in Souderton. There will be fun for the whole family, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, winery, art, ice cream, vendors, and retailers with extended hours. The event takes place in Souderton at the corner of Main & Chestnut Street. It's free to attend with pay-as-you-go activities throughout.

OctoberFeast + Scarecrow Shuffle

When: Saturday, October 16th – 17th
Where: Peddler's Village, 2400 Street Road, New Hope, PA

This weekend at Peddler's Village, celebrate Octoberfeast, featuring food trucks, beer and wine garden, live entertainment, and family activities. Grab your stein and stroll amongst larger-than-life scarecrows. Admission and parking are free. On Sunday, October 17th, at 9 am, join Scoogie Events & Peddler's Village for a family friendly event to celebrate fall running season with a super festive event. Scarecrow Shuffle includes an 8k run/jog, 5k run, jog, 2 mile fun run, and a 1/2 mile kids' run. It's suggested to park at Giggleberry Fair. Register here.

Trucktoberfest

When: Friday, October 15th
Where: St. Catherine of Siena, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA

Come out to Trucktoberfest with ten fabulous food trucks, Artifact Brewing from Hatboro, SCS Wine and beer garden and music provided by local DJ, Paul Wilburn.

Trails to Tasting Foraging Experience

When: Saturday, October 16th,
Where: Peace Valley Nature Center, 170 N Chapman Road, Doylestown, PA

Learn more about foraging for wild edibles that can be found all over – from your own small, urban garden, to roadsides, to natural hiking trails. You'll learn about foraging etiquette, how plant and wildlife species are interconnected, and how to create unique, handcrafted cocktails, just in time to celebrate harvest season! You'll start with a foraging walk, and then return for a cocktail and mocktail tasting experience. Light refreshments will be available and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to Peace Valley Nature Center.

Dinosaur Pajama Party

When: Sunday, October 17th, 5 pm – 6:30 pm
Where: Frenchtown Book Shop, 28 Bridge Street, Frenchtown, NJ

Join writer Laurie Wallmark, author of the brand-new picture book, “Dino Pajama Party,” for a cozy and fun Sunday evening PJ party. Dinosaur t-shirts, dinosaur pajamas, and even dinosaur masks, will be the height of fashion at the bookshop, when Laurie Wallmark of Ringoes, NJ, comes to Frenchtown to celebrate her new book. It's a little-known fact that dinosaurs love to have fun. AT sundown, dinosaurs gather together to play instruments, dance and skin before bedtime. But, as soon as they grow tired, they need their rest. In honor of the sleepy dinos, come to the book store dressed in your best dinosaur, for some bedtime games, stories, and snacks. Fall Salon Show at Freeman Hall

When: October 16 & 23, 10 am – 7 pm
Where: Freeman Hall, 181 E. Court Street, Doylestown, PA

The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County is putting together special programs on October 16th and 23rd to present “A Closer Look” at some of the artists who have worked in the Fall Salon Member Show at Freeman Hall in Doylestown. In addition to the special programs, stay and browse the 140 artworks representing nearly 70 artists. Several artist will be painting en plein air on the lawn or porch, and community members may stop any time during the day to see them at work and take a closer look at the process. Films That Made Music: Jazz on a Summer's Day

When: Tuesday, October 19th, 7 pm
Where: Hopewell Theater, 5 Greenwood Ave, Hopewell, NJ

The 1959 classic is considered one of the most extraordinary and possibly the first concert film ever made. It's sparkling new 4k restoration by IndieCollect, with color correction by Oskar Miarka, recently premiered at the 57th New York Film Festival with sold out shows. The film was named to the National Film Registry in 1999, and its restoration was funded by the National Film Preservation Board of the Library in Congress in time to celebrate the film's 60th Anniversary.

Movies at the Mercer Museum

When: Thursday, October 21, 7 pm
Where: Mercer Museum, 84 S Pine Street, Doylestown, PA

The last screening of the 2021 Movies at the Mercer Museum series will take place on Thursday, October 21st. The movie showing is the Halloween classic, “The Addams Family.” When long-lost Uncle Fester reappears after twenty-five years in the Bermuda Triangle, Gomez and Morticia plan a celebration to wake the dead.
