It's going to be a beautiful weekend in Bucks County. The Garden of Reflection in Yardley has events all weekend in honor of those who were lost on September 11, 2001. Participate in the 5k or spend time at the garden to reflect. There's also a new art exhibit at the AOY Art Center, Oktoberfest and so much more. 18th Annual 9/11 Garden of Reflection 5K Run/Walk

When: Sunday, September 12, 9:00 am
Where: 1950 Woodside Road, Yardley, PA

Participate in this years running of the 9/11 Memorial 5K as we commemorate the lives lost and the heroic acts of first responders for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk raises money for the endowment to preserve The Garden of Reflection memorial for future generations to honor and remember all those not with us today. “fresh stART” at AOY Art Center

When: September 11-26, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
Where: AOY Art Center, 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley, PA

You're invited to view the newest collection of original art by AOY Art Center member artists at “fresh stART.” The exhibition celebrates the start of the 2021-22 program year at the center. Visitors will be able to see the landscapes of Bucks County countryside, abstracts, inspirational figurative works and still lifes. There will be portraits of pets and a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, encaustic, photography, etchings, charcoal and mixed media.

The exhibition can be experienced best in-person but can also be viewed online at aoyarts.org once the show opens to the public on September 11. Gallery visiting hours start Saturday, September 11th from 12-5 pm and continue Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through September 26th. On Sunday, September 19th from 10 am – 5 pm, you're invited to enjoy Art on the Farm, an outdoor festival where there will be more local art and an opportunity to purchase art and fine crafts directly from 30 local artists. The one day event will also bring bands and food trucks. Please do not bring pets.

Local Artisan Craft Fair

Come out to Newtown Brewing Company and support local small business. Shop, dance, eat and enjoy brews from Newtown Brewing Co.

50th Anniversary of Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards

When: September 11 – November 7
Where: Linvilla Orchards, 137 West Knowlton Road, Media, PA

In 1971, the late matriarch of the family-run Linvilla Orchards, Peg Linvill, won first place at the Philadelphia Horticulture Society's Harvest Show. The display was brought back to the farm where the family sold pumpkins for years and Pumpkinland was born. It's a beautiful fall destination for families in the Philadelphia area. It's opening this weekend, September 11th and will remain open until November 7th. Linvilla offers a variety of autumn magic activites including hayrides, pick-your-own apples, and mazes. On select dates there will be autumn moon hayrides and a full moon hayride on October 20th. Check the website for more information.

Bucks-Mont Oktoberfest

When: Saturday, September 11, 11 am – 10 pm
Where: 130 Davisville Road, Warminster, PA

This Saturday, Vereinigung Erzgebirge is celebrating their 84th fest! Saturday. There will be German Music Groups playing all day and Rock & Roll all night. Participate in soccer games, a keg tapping ceremony, German food, fun and beer. Fun for the kids includes moon bounce, face painting, kickball hayrides, arts and crafts, an obstacle course and playground.

Doylestown Arts Festival

When: Saturday – Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm
Where: Downtown Doylestown, 63 E State Street, Doylestown, PA

Doylestown Arts Festival returns for its 30th anniversary! Featuring a diverse selection of independent artists, live music on 5 stages, and art demonstrations, this is not a weekend to miss. Murder Mystery Walking Tour: GhostDusters

When: Friday, September 10, 6 pm – 8 pm
Where: 2400 Street Road, New Hope, PA

Join the GhostDusters as they discuss Bucks County’s famous haunts. But beware: While some of the ghost tales are true, some may be…less than authentic. Can you guess which stories are true and which are phantoms? Prizes will be awarded to those who know their Bucks County ghosts. For this event, having a smartphone is helpful but not required!

Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein, Bill Stewart – Ramshackle Serenade

When: September 10th, 7:30 pm
Where: Zlock Performing Arts Center, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA

Guitarist Peter Bernstein, organist Larry Goldings, and drummer Bill Stewart make up one of the best organ jazz trios of the past two decades. The respect the musicians have for one another comes through in the subtle and intricate manner of their musical conversation on stage. Indeed, you can hear them listening to each other. Drawing mainly on jazz standards, and a few original pieces, they re-imagine the organ jazz trio in a quiet, sensual, and grooving presentation. Tickets are $40.

Combining relevant history, biography, and the culture of each city with her own experience and revelations, Nerd Traveler is a series of essays that highlight the joy which can come from moving beyond your comfort zone. She will be reading, answering question and signing books. Copies of the book will be available for sale.
