While it's early September, the fall season is starting to kick off this weekend with events like Oktoberfest, apple and spice events, arts festivals, and more. Newtown Black & White Dinner

When: Saturday, September 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: Newtown Theatre

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Newtown Black & White Dinner, being held this year on  Saturday and benefiting the historic Newtown Theatre. During the event, up to 500 black-and-white clad diners will gather on Newtown Borough’s closed-down North State Street for a one-of-a-kind alfresco picnic held in the middle of the street. 

When guests arrive, they will find tables draped in white liens stretching hundreds of feet down the street. Guests can mingle, decorate their tables, and enjoy live jazz music prior to dinner, which beings at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, the lighting of sparklers will commence, following a screening of “Casablanca” inside the theatre and a cash bar.

Diners are to dress only in black and white and bring everything they need for dinner under the stars, including food, utensils, and optional black and white decor. Tickets for the dinner are $20 per person for theatre members and $25 for non-members, not including pre-ordered dinners. For more information and tickets, visit their website here.

Chasing the Unicorn Marathon & Half Marathon

When: Sunday, September 11

Where: Washington Crossing

Join in the fun to watch runners compete this weekend in the Chasing the Unicorn marathon — the 3rd highest percentage of Boston marathon qualifiers in 2020. It's a last-chance race for runners to qualify for the Boston Marathon or improve their seed times. There is also a new half marathon that travels from Washington Crossing Historic Park along the Delaware Canal towpath to the south end of New Hope and back. This course is also concurrent with the marathon runners. Line up with the rest of the crowd for the start time at 7:30 a.m.!

Oktoberfest is Here

Join in on the Oktoberfest fun packed with German music all day turned to rock & roll at night, soccer games, a keg tapping ceremony, and more! There are playgrounds, a moon bounce, face painting, and much more for kids as well. This family-friendly event will be packed with endless German food, beer, and fun. Tickets are $7 in advance for 16 years of age and up or $10 per person the day of, and anyone under 16 enters for free!

Doylestown Arts Festival

When: Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11

Where: Doylestown

The Doylestown Arts Festival is back in full swing for its 31st season. Hosted by Discover Doylestown and presented by The Thompson Organization, the two-day festival features a combined 175 artists, musicians, and live art demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy. The festival covers over 8 blocks of downtown Doylestown, drawing in thousands of attendees each year, making it one of the largest outdoor, juried art festivals in Bucks County. Farm Fun!

Sunday Beer And Bonsai

The Cycling Event of the Year: The Bucks County Classic

Where: Doylestown

The area's most thrilling pro cycling event of the year returns to Doylestown! Spirited crowds will line the streets as the cyclists hit the road in an exciting variety of events. Back for its 18th year, the Bucks County Classic will feature multiple races, both amateur & pro, men and women, as well as a kids race. The grand finale, the Thompson Pro Men's Race, is a 50-mile race that encircles the Doylestown Arts Festival. This fall, Circus Campus hosts its inaugural hub with the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, entitled Circus Campus Presents.
