Making it on your own isn’t easy. In fact, it’s a lot of work! When you need a night off from cooking, check out these affordable take-out establishments:

Georgine’s Junior—Levittown

It’s the take-out spot for their more formal location, Georgine’s, which is located in Bristol. From sandwiches to full entrees, Georgine’s Junior is your spot for a quick, delicious and “home cooked” meal. Unlike other take-out joints, it’s not all bad for you. They offer a variety of platters, all of which come with a main course like, chicken, veal or turkey and two sides which can be anything from green beans and roasted potatoes to spinach and carrots. Added bonus for germaphobes like me…it’s all prepared right in front of you. Platters range in price from $6 to $10, but they offer sandwiches and burgers for even less than that. Even better—platters are typically big enough for two meals! If you go—it’s cash only, but there is an ATM on premises.

Red Robin—Bensalem, Langhorne and Quakertown

Take out has never been easier! You call and place your order and 15 to 20 minutes later, you pull up in front of your local Red Robin, and the a runner brings it out to you. Take out prices are the same as the dine-in prices, but there’s no need to buy beverages or tip as much as you would for sit-down service, so it’s still a bargain. The best part? Red Robin’s endless fries promise still applies. I once came home with 1 burger box and 4 boxes of fries.

Under the Pier—Bristol

One of the best seafood places in town! Under the Pier offers take out platters that are to die for at unbelievable prices. Broiled crab cake platter for $9, Fish N’ Chips for $7.95, fried shrimp for $5.95. Each week, Under the Pier posts coupons on their Facebook page, so be sure to “like” it for even more savings. Like Georgine’s…it is cash only.

Cancun Mexican Restaurant—Fairless Hills

If you’re in the mood for Mexican, this is your spot! The food is delicious, and you can’t beat the prices and portion sizes; it’s another one that will last you two meals! The restaurant offers added discounts during lunch hours of 11-2:30, so consider stopping in for lunch as well. If you order, I suggest the fajita salad—its two meals for $9.99.

Mamma Mia Trattoria—Langhorne

If you like Italian food, you’ll love this place. Go on Monday or Tuesday and pick from a variety of special entrees that include a salad, sides and dessert all for $12.99. Wwwhhhaaattt? It’s more than enough food for two people, so call a friend to split this one with you.

Bitter Bob’s—New Hope

American BBQ cuisine. I recommend the wedge salad or pulled chicken sandwich. Both affordable dishes will satisfy your biggest BBQ-craving! They also have a “bowl of deliciousness” which is as good as it sounds- customize the bowl with a variety of choices. What’s even better, is that it only cost $7.99! Awesome sauce.
