If your child’s school goes virtual, or you find your child struggling with online learning, Camp NAC has your back! Camp NAC, a division of the Newtown Athletic Club, is providing an on-site Supplemental School Enrichment Program. Camp NAC's dedicated school enrichment coaches will help children stay social while mastering virtual learning.
Note: By following the suggested health and safety protocols from the DCD, WHO and local government, Camp NAC hosted over 600 kids in the community this past summer with no Covid cases.
Education
The Supplemental School Enrichment Program is for children ages 3 through 18 years old and is available every weekday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this time, enrichment coaches will work with your child's school schedule to help implement virtual learning. Your child should bring a peanut-free lunch and snack, their backpack, and everything needed to complete their schoolwork (notebook, pencil, laptop/charger and textbooks.)
In addition, there will be curriculum-based programs with physical education, music, art, and reading incorporated. There's also a campus nurse. If needed, after-school extracurricular activities are even available. And program add-ons include before & after school care, breakfast/lunch, swim lessons, and more!
Health
Camp NAC’s Supplemental School Enrichment Program strictly follows the suggested health and safety guidelines of the local government and school districts. The NAC campus has aligned their standards with guidance from Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local government. They're following CDC cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting protocols. And the 40,000 square feet facility offers plenty of space for students.
Work spaces, daily activities and after-school programs will take place throughout the NAC's 250,000 square foot facility and 26-acre campus to ensure maximum safety and a continuous practice of physical distancing.
Social
Children attending the School Enrichment Program will spend their day in small groups, separated by district, school and grade.
While the world is focusing on health, the Newtown Athletic Club and Camp NAC is here to provide children with a safe and social atmosphere to continue their next chapter in their educational journey. It is their mission to be a health hub for the community and keep our children in a positive physical, mental and emotional state of mind.
