Celebrate George Washington’s 282nd Birthday

Happy 282nd Birthday George Washington!

The public is invited to celebrate George Washington’s 282nd birthday on Saturday, February 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Washington Crossing Historic Park. Admission is $1.

During the day, buildings in the historic village will be open with demonstrations taking place in the blacksmith shop, cooking in the Hibbs House, Colonial dress-up in the Frye House and more. Author Jeffrey Finnegan will read from his book, “Colonel Washington and Me,” and also be available for book signings in the park’s gift shop.

Every child will receive materials to make a special birthday card for General Washington, who will arrive at the park at 1 p.m. Soon after his arrival, visitors will sing Happy Birthday to him and enjoy cake that he will cut with his sword.

Washington Crossing Historic Park is located at the intersection of Routes 32 and 532. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Washington Crossing Park in partnership with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
