Hanukkah takes place this year from sundown Thursday, December 10th to sundown, Friday, December 18th. While many of the traditional events have been cancelled this year due to COVID concerns, there ARE still ways you can celebrate with the community. Here's a list of in-person, socially distanced and virtual events that are taking place this December to honor the Festival of the Lights.

Outdoor Menorah Lighting with Lubavitch of Yardley

When: Thursday, December 10 at 6 p.m.
Where: In front of Yardley Borough Hall, 56 South Main Street, Yardley

There will be Chanukah crafts, gelt, music, latkas and donuts! Masks are required and health guidelines will be followed. All food and crafts will be individually packaged.

Hanukkah Celebration at Sesame Place

When: December 12, 13 and 18
Where: 100 Sesame Road, Langhorne

Visit Sesame Place on December 12th, 13th 0r 18th at 4:30PM for their Hanukkah Celebration at the Neighborhood Theater! Learn about the story of the Jewish Festival of Lights, listen to traditional music, and watch the Menorah Lighting Ceremony. The celebration will be led by a local cantor, Grover, and Baby Bear, who celebrates Hanukkah with his family.

This event is included with park admission. Seating is limited and the event is first come, first served.

Chanukah Together at Home by Lubavitch of Yardley

When: Saturday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: YOUR HOME

Light the Menorah at home and celebrate as a community! This Zoom-style community event will feature a candle lighting, Havdallah, game, song and plenty of community spirit! RSVP at THIS LINK. Zoom link will be provided with RSVP.

Chanukah Menorah Lighting Ceremony in Newtown

When: Sunday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Glazer Jewish Center, 25 North State Street, Newtown

Lubavitch Bucks County presents its annual Chanukah Menorah Lighting. There will be entertainment, Chanukah gelt and pre-packaged Chanukah treats for everyone. The Menorah Lighting is sponsored by McCaffrey’s Markets.

Community Hanukkah Celebration at Shady Brook Farm

When: Monday, December 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley

Join in for a Hanukkah celebration with the lighting of the GIANT menorah! No charge, just fun. Masks are required.

Sue Weiner (Education Director at Temple Micah) and Rabbi Aaraon Gaber (Rabbi at Congregation Brothers of Israel) will be attending.

Light Up Doylestown

When: Tuesday, December 15 at 5 p.m.
Where: 100 N. Main Street, Doylestown

The Bucks County Justice Center will host a celebration with an outdoor menorah lighting. A Menorah will be lit, and there will be treats for everyone.
