What is diversity? How does it impact personal and social identity? Join Bucks County Community College’s, Max Probst, Associate Professor of Sociology, and Samantha Gross, Professor of History and Sociology, at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe Street, in a moderated discussion on the meaning of diversity on Thursday, May 28, 2015 beginning at 6:30 pm. The public is encouraged to take time to recognize and celebrate our differences. To register for this free event, call the library at (215) 788-7891, or visit online at www.grundylibrary.org.
Celebrating Diversity, Redefining Difference is the lead-off event for the greater Grundy Library project to collect personal stories capturing community diversity, Everyone Has a Story to Tell – What’s Yours? For the story project, the public is invited to come in and interview friends or family members by appointment from June through August. Participants need not be a Bristol resident, and the interviews can be of any subject. These personal stories from the public will be recorded with copies saved to the Grundy Library Historical Collection and given to the interviewer and interviewee. The entire project culminates with a Library exhibition during October that will feature some of the collected oral histories. To register a story recording session, or for more information, call (215) 788-7891 ext. 6.
