Bucks County is full of biking enthusiasts and while they keep busy exploring the gorgeous grounds of Bucks throughout the year, there is one day that stands apart from the rest- the Covered Bridge Bicycle Ride! Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year to enjoy Bucks County and the covered bridge tour provides the perfect backdrop for a fun day on two wheels.
Registration is now open for the ride, which is to be held held on Sunday, October 20th. Sponsored by the Central Bucks Bicycle Club, the 33rd annual Covered Bridges Bicycle Ride is a recreational cycling event featuring historic covered bridges, beautiful fall foliage and a variety of bicycle rides for riders of every age and ability.
Cyclists may choose from a flat-n-family-friendly 20-mile route (travels primarily fine-cinder, off-road trails visits one covered bridge and is suitable for mountain and hybrid bikes), a flat 30-mile route (visits two covered bridges and is suitable for hybrid bikes), or more challenging, hilly routes of 33 (visits 3 covered bridges), 50 (visits 5 covered bridges) or 63 miles (visits 6 covered bridges). The three longer routes travel on paved roads that are also open to traffic.
All rides include snack stops along the routes (featuring fresh fruit and homemade baked goods prepared by Central Bucks Bicycle Club members) and a celebration lunch at the finish. Plus, each year CBBC donates proceeds from the CBR to area charities via the Club’s Grant Program.
All rides start and finish at Tinicum Park, located along the banks of the Delaware River at 963 River Road, Erwinna, PA
