Book Clubs

Bucks County Community College Book Discussion Group

The Bucks County Community College Book Club meets on the second Thursday of the month during the academic year. For the time being, the long-running group has shifted is meetings to an online format using Zoom. Conquering Cuisine offers a variety of classes including demonstration, hands-on, wine tasting & pairing, kids cooking, and private classes. The Lucky Cupcake Company/Sweet Occasions

The Lucky Cupcake Company offers a variety of to-go kits, classes and baking camp sessions. While most are for children, they do occasionally offer an adults event.

Magic Arts Studio

Magic Arts Studio offers classes and parties for kids and adults focused on glass arts, pallet signs, mosaics, stained glass, ceramics and more. Both Robert and Alice Seufert, both professional artists have had the pleasure of teaching art classes to both children and adults for over 35 years. Echo Valley Fiber offers regular knitting classes on Wednesday and Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. For beginners, they offer beginning crochet instruction on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and beginning knitting classes are Friday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Classes are limited to 5-6 students to ensure personalized attention.

Bucks County Audubon Society

2877 Creamery Road, New Hope

The Bucks County Audubon Society's goal is to connect people to the natural world and inspire them to take positive actions that will benefit birds, wildlife and inhabitants. Their grounds are open dawn to dusk every day, and the Education Center is open during the week. They also host regularly host events – both virtual and in person. Coming up, there is an “Owl Prowl” walk on January 9 and a Bird Walk on January 16.

Silver Lake Nature Center

1306 Bath Road, Bristol

Silver Lake Nature Center's trails are open for independent exploring daily from sunrise to sunset. But if you'd like something more interactive, you can also join one of their upcoming events. They'll have free Guided Walk tours on Sunday, January 10 and 17 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. as well as Earthship Tours on Saturday, January 23 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In addition, Silver Lake Nature Center hosts several day-off and after-school events for children.
