A wife, mother of two children (ages 7 and 9), resident of Doylestown, and an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years, Michele Millar is a woman who knows how to handle a lot on her place.

But after recently being forced to quit her job as she underwent her 8th spinal surgery, she struggled through a challenging time. She found a more flexible position as an Independent Consultant with Usborne Books & More, a national children's book publisher. And after struggling with the idea that she wouldn't be able to return to work in rehab working as an Occupational Therapist, Michele decided to turn her sadness into something good.

Michael raised $1100 in donations from area businesses and individuals to benefit the new Della Penna Pediatric Center of Doylestown Hospital, their new pediatric inpatient unit. With Usborne's Literacy for a Lifetime program, which provides a 50% matching grant for funds raised over $250, the $1100 raised in just 8 days time from September 26, 2016 to October 5, 2016 turned into a total of $1650, which was used to purchase over 150 brand new Usborne books for the children in Doylestown Hospital's Della Penna Pediatric Center.
