This weekend, there is triple the fun happening in Lower Bucks- the Yardley Beerfest, Newtown Uncorked, and Newtown's Welcome Day!

First, uncork a day of fun at the annual Newtown Uncorked celebration on Saturday, May 21, from 2pm to 6pm at Newtown Swim Club. Your palate will be inspired by wineries selected from PA and across the globe (over 60 wines), paired with tastes of local Newtown Restaurants. Tickets are $40 and include wine & food ($10 designated driver).

Perhaps you couldn't snag tickets to the sold out Washington Brewfest last week? Or you just had so much fun that you want to jump back in! Either way, this Saturday is the 4th Annual Yardley Beer Festival, featuring over 45 breweries, live music by The Kennedy's, (see below) & a new edition this year called “Homebrew Corner”. It's all happenings from 1 to 5pm under a “big tent” on South Delaware Avenue.

The fun continues on Sunday, when Newtown hosts the annual NBPA Annual Welcome Day from 11am – 4pm on Sycamore Street in Newtown. Welcome Day 2011 is jam packed with free activities guaranteed to delight everyone in the family: a juried art festival with over 60 artists, live music and performances, food offerings, pony rides, face painting, sidewalk sales and more. This event is a great way to enjoy all Newtown has to offer: a charming and friendly town atmosphere, fascinating history and architecture, unique boutiques and galleries and a delicious variety of restaurants.

This year, Welcome Day even has a few extra goodies in store. First, play the “passport challenge” for the chance to win an IPad 2! Then stick around as American Idol contestant and New Hope resident, Devyn Rush, will be on hand to help judge the Rising Star Competition.

Only 3 more days until the weekend… 🙂
