Running is a great way to get or stay in shape and cool fall weather is perfect for starting or getting back into the sport. If you need a little motivation, signing up for a race can be the perfect solution. Bucks County and the surrounding areas are filled with racing opportunities and you can be sure to find one that perfectly suits your current running level. If you are a brand new runner or you want to work to improve your time, here is a list of great training programs online as well as a list of races from 5K to marathons.
5K Races
Run The Lights – Shady Brook Farms, Friday November 21st at 7pm. This is only a 2 mile run – perfect for beginners!
Fries Rebellion 5K – Quakertown, Friday October 3rd starting at 6pm and followed by lite dinner and Oktoberfest beer.
Bucks County 5K – Washington Crossing Historic Park, Saturday November 15 registration starts at 9am awards are given to the top three men and top three women in each age group.

Half Marathons
Deleware Canal Half Marathon – Washington Crossing Historic Park is the start and finish of the half marathon on November 15th, registration starts at 9am. Portions of the proceeds from the race will benefit Friends of the Delaware Canal State Park, Friends of Washington Crossing Park and area High School Cross Country teams.
Trenton Half Marathon – Trenton NJ, Saturday November 8th half marathon starts at 8am and if that is too much there is also a 10k and kids run.

Deleware Canal 20-miler – Washington Crossing Historic Park, October 23rd registration starts at 8am, race at 9am.
Bucks County Marathon – Washington Crossing Historic Park, November 16th registration starts at 8am, race at 9am.
The Bucky – Washington Crossing Historic Park, November 15th and 16th. This is for those folks looking for the ultimate challenge, the bucky is a combination of the half marathon on Saturday and the Marathon on Sunday for a total of 39.3 miles in one weekend!
