Entrepreneurs, by definition, have to find a way – a way to start their business, fund their business, market their business and profit from their business. Succeeding in business is not easy but when your passion for your idea is overwhelming, you find a way. Doylestown native Francesca Brescia has a passion to help women look and feel beautiful and confident. She started her career at the MAC store at King of Prussia Mall after graduating from the Make-Up Designory School in New York City excited to share her expertise with new clients. As for many of us, Covid had other plans. When the MAC store closed, Francesca was forced to find a way.

Francesca had the business idea to specialize in safe, healthy spray tanning but with a twist. She would focus on customizing the color she sprayed on clients, using their unique undertones. She harkened back to her color theory studies, found the right water and aloe-based products and imagined a new studio that could be as custom as her spray tan service! Her dilemma was to find a studio at a price that would match her business’s budget.

Working from Elite Salons and Suites in Doylestown, Francesca works alongside other beauty artists whose services complement her own while the Elite Salons and Suites organization supports her business with coaching, information and other entrepreneurial help.

At my visit with Francesca at her Dream Glow by Francesca studio, I asked what it is about a spray tan that makes a woman feel beautiful. She affirmed, “A natural glow provides a woman with confidence and outward beauty that mirrors her inner beauty.”

The clients who desire that “natural glow” run the gamut in desired results. There are clients who simply love the sun-kissed look, clients who want to look extra special for an evening out, clients who desire a consistent skin tone and clients who love the ‘tan look’ but for medical reasons cannot be in the sun. She even serves (and loves) new moms who simply want some time to themselves while tanning. Francesca provides a safe, quiet space to serve all of her clients no matter the reason for their visit. She told me, “You never know the particular clients whose needs you serve or whose inner psyche can be transformed based on what is now on the outside!”

Francesca is over two years in business and going strong with plans to develop her own product line of spray tanning products as well as expanding her makeup and teeth gemming services. She would also like to teach customized spray tan service to other interested entrepreneurs. I asked her to share her advice about getting into business. Without hesitation, she responded, “Trust that if you have an idea for a particular business, there’s a reason. Take the Risk.”
