Composed of a forward thinking group of performers and presenters, Composer Stephen Dijoseph and Dancer Sutie Madison's Band of Artists are putting a new spin on Tourette Syndrome. “Tourettes: A Dancing Disorder” is a performance piece that challenges and inspires audiences to take another look at their definitions of disability. Because Tourette Syndrome is very kinetic in nature, it can be perceived as a dance, if seen through the right lens. Band of Artists provides this lens.
This innovative troupe is at the forefront of a movement being born that not only creates awareness about neurological disorders but also gives a powerful voice that inspires appreciation and admiration for people who are different. The dancer's movements are bold and surreal which will compel you to observe the rituals and mindset of people who move through the world in such a unique and way.
