Meet the lovely local newlyweds Andrew Meyer & Kelly Re.

BH: When did you get engaged? And married?

Andrew: We got engaged in June 2014 at Crossing Vineyard in Newton and we were married on October 3rd, 2015 at the Villanova Chapel.

BH: Where do you call home?

Andrew: Kelly and I purchased a home in Havertown, PA, which is conveniently located between both of our jobs.

BH: Makes sense. And what are those jobs?

Andrew: Kelly manages the Destination Wedding department for Apple Vacations and I am a senior account manager at Seer Interactive in Philadelphia.

Newly engaged at Crossing Vineyards

BH: How did you pop the question?

Andrew:  We were at Crossing Vineyard in Washington Crossing, PA. I had called a bunch of wineries to see if they were able to accommodate a group tasting and engagement, and Crossing Vineyards was quite responsive and the property & tasting room looked perfect.

I had convinced a few friends to pretend that we were meeting them at Crossing's, that way Kelly wouldn't be suspicious. We had set it up prior to going that once Kelly & I arrived, they would let us know they were running a few minutes late. In reality, our friends were down at the Jersey shore and them “running late” was a perfect excuse to take a walk around the vineyard.

We strolled through the vineyard looking at the property and I asked Kelly to text them again. When she was distracted creating her message, I got down behind her on one knee with the ring. Once she turned around, I proposed and she was speechless. After saying yes, we headed into the winery private tasting room, where both of our families we're waiting to enjoy a wine tasting. They were even able to snap a few photos of the engagement like paparazzi.

BH: Tell us a little bit about your wedding.

Andrew: Our wedding reception was held at Whitemarsh Country Club and we had both a cocktail hour and a sit down dinner. Although, with the amount of dancing that went on, it's hard to really say it was a “sit down”.

We went for a mid-sized wedding list of around 175 people. In terms of vision, we were looking to have a classic and elegant wedding & reception, with combinations of gold & pink as our main colors. We also tried to instill a few unique and memorable touches throughout the night such as a table of family wedding photos from both sides of the family, playing family & friends wedding songs throughout dinner so they could dance again to their first dance and gift bags with “his” and “hers” favorites inside.

BH: What were 3 of your favorite details from your wedding day?

CQjY9ADWsAEzD-ZAndrew:

  1. The dress – Kelly kept the dress a complete secret, so seeing her for the first time walking down the aisle was mind blowing. She was so beautiful and blew me away!
  2. Our first dance – We chose to dance to Brett Eldredge's “Mean to Me”. Prior to the wedding, we took dancing lessons as a fun date night activity and loved dancing together to this song.
  3. The limo ride – After we got married, we took a limo to the reception venue to take photos with our bridal party. We blasted music and popped champagne to celebrate the whole way there!

BH: The planning process- Amazing? Stressful? Or somewhere in between?

Andrew: Amazing. We loved it!

BH: With Kelly being from Doylestown, where are your favorite date spots in Bucks County?

Andrew: Cafe Alessio & 86 West in Doylestown – we love the food & atmosphere!

BH: Your wedding looks beautiful! Here's to many years of happiness.
