The second annual “International IPA Day” is happening Thursday, August 2nd, 2012 and Isaac Newton's is celebrating with a East Coast IPA vs West Coast IPA showdown.

After the success of the inaugural IPA Day last year, the creators, Ashley V. Routson (aka ‘The Beer Wench’) and Ryan A. Ross, have once again created “…a grassroots movement to unite the voices of craft beer enthusiasts, bloggers, and brewers worldwide through social media” while celebrating the rise in prominence of this genre of beer and its many interpretations.

As Isaac’s has always strived to provide some of the greatest IPAs available, they will again embrace IPA Day in full force! Throughout the day, they'll be offering up to 10 different India Pale Ales (or Double IPAs or IPA hybrids, etc.). While some of the line-up will be a surprise, we can let you know that the hyper-popular Russian River Pliny the Elder Double IPA (8%) will be available!

For the first time this year, Isaac's will be holding a “battle” of cross country IPA’s! California IPA’s vs the rest of the country. The line up is as follows.

In the U.S.’s corner:
Founders Centennial IPA 7.2%
Troegs Perpetual IPA 7.5%
Yards Cape of Good Hope 8.1%
Great Lakes Erie Monster 9.1%
Founders Devil Dancer 12%

Fighting for California:
Ballast Point Sculpin IPA 7.0%
Alesmith IPA 7.25%
Green Flash West Coast IPA 7.3%
Russian River Pliny the Elder 8.0%
Firestone Walker Double Jack 9.5%
