BCAF's facility, destroyed by flooding during Hurricane Irene

There will be a fundraiser for the Bucks County Academy of Fencing (BCAF) on Monday, October 3, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in The Garden Bar at The Stockton Inn located at One Main Street in downtown Stockton, NJ. The event is being organized by Stockton Inn General Manager & Ewing town council candidate John Cifelli and by Joe Grillo and Family of Ewing, NJ, whose son has been a fencer at the Bucks County Academy of Fencing since 2007.

The fencing academy was founded in 1981 in New Hope by Fencing Master Mark Holbrow. After almost 23 years of operation in New Hope, the BCAF moved to a larger location in Lambertville, NJ in 2003. On August 28, the Lambertville location was completely destroyed in a flash flood during Hurricane Irene. The fencing academy has since re-located to a temporary space at St. Martin of Tours in New Hope.

The suggested donation for the event is $10. Al fresco drinks and dining will be available for purchase with 10% of all proceeds being donated by the Stockton Inn to BCAF for the replacement of equipment that was destroyed during the flash flood, including fencing gear for beginner classes, office equipment, spectator area furniture, signage, and teaching gear for instructors.

There will be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction of donated services and items from local businesses. DJ services have been donated by JoeBlo.
