On Sunday, August 6, 2017 the Newtown Athletic Club (NAC) will host its first 3k Color Fun Run, formally known as the Kid’s TRI at 8:00 a.m. This popular event for children ages 6+ is open to both members of the NAC and the general public.

At the Color Fun Run kids will participate in an exciting & friendly competition. Runners will be decorated with bright colors as they reach certain points of the run. This event is held to encourage children to stay active through training. “This year we are excited to bring something new for kid's to the Newtown community. Our Kid's TRI has always been a huge hit for young athletes ages 6+ and we are looking forward to bringing something new for them to look forward to this summer”, explains Youth Programs Director, Heather Dear.

After the race, participants are welcome to relax for the remainder of the day and enjoy snacks and refreshments at Escape Restaurant and the NAC outdoor water park. Family and friends of participants are welcome to join at no cost for NAC members. Participants may bring up to two non-member guests to the post race party for a fee of $10. Any additional non-member guests can purchase a guest pass through the NAC.

The event cost is $20 for NAC members and $25 for non-members. Each participant will receive a kid’s white t-shirt, a finisher’s medal, goodie bag, and entry to the post-race pool party. We also are selling special additional options for race day wear including, a race day cape, head boppers, wristbands and colorful bandanas.
