You may have caught him on Top Chef Masters. You may have binged his show Restaurants on the Edge on Netflix. But did you know that Chef Nick Liberato is Bucks County born and raised? This surfer at heart made a beeline for the California waves after graduating from Pennsbury High School, where he also cut his culinary teeth. He created a catering and private chef company that became well known in elite LA circles; “Chef Nicky” as he's affectionately known, has cooked for celebrities from Tom Hanks to The Beastie Boys to Barbara Streisand. From there, Nick grew from renowned private chef to full-blown restauranter when he acquired the long-time Venice fixtures, the Venice Whaler and The Pier House.
But 20+ years later, now a husband and a father, the east coast was calling Nick home. It was a chance meeting through his Bucks County rabbi that met his partner, Mike Dalewitz, and together they created The Borscht Belt. One step inside the Borcht Belt's Stockton, New Jersey location will transport you to the set of Dirty Dancing or The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel; think elevated 1950s nostalgia.
