Oh Cafe Con Leche- how you've toyed with my emotions.  For years, I am sad to say I didn't know exactly where you were. I'd heard whispers of a Newtown BYOB with delicious, reasonably priced food, but only recently did I find you  tucked away behind the shops on State Street.  I triumphantly came to see you, wine in hand, for dinner earlier this spring. I was shocked to find out, though, that the restaurant was closing early despite it being an abnormally mild Saturday night around 8pm.  Harsh, but I don't give up that easily.

So I took a different approach- lunch- and I must say we hit it off!  Your service was prompt & friendly and your food outstanding.  With your extensive list of lunch specials for just $8.50, you had me at hello.  I enjoyed the Small Pear & Blue Cheese Salad with Grilled Chicken while others at my table savored the tasty Shrimp Fajitas.  Your “Gourmet Express” option, which promises to be ready in 10 minutes or less for business lunches, is fabulous.

Thrilled by my new love affair with Cafe Con Leche, I took my boyfriend to experience your delicious dishes, but again we found the restaurant closed by 8pm (this time it was the Sunday before Memorial Day).   Once again, we felt the sting of rejection.

Cafe Con Leche- you have certainly not made this relationship easy, but you can bet I'll be back for your delicious food. We'll just keep this a quick & cheap day-time affair. See you soon 😉
