Caught up with a friend today for lunch at Karla's in New Hope.  All in all, I'd say we had a good experience.  Karla's has a very strange look about it; it seems very run down and haphazardly put together.  Even from the outside, it's hard to tell where the entrance is, and the two portions of the restaurant do not seem to even be attached to one another.  But I think this gives it character; it looks at home in its New Hope surroundings.  I've been there 4 or 5 times for drinks; the Saturday night bartender is no joke a RIOT, and he makes the absolute best fruit martinis (Real watermelon, real peaches, and REAL STRONG!).  I think maybe once we ordered an appetizer there but how hard it it to put pita triangles and hummus on a plate? This is the first time that I've actually eaten there.

We arrived just past noon, and only a table or two were occupied.  However within 20 minutes most tables in our section were filled with lunchtimers. The section we sat in was full of light, (see the picture below) because the roof is made from some very translucent material.  However I could see it being chilly in there once the weather turns??

The lunch menu is significantly more reasonable in price than the dinner menu.  That being said, they only serve appetizers, salads & sandwiches at lunch time whereas at dinner they offer full entrees. My dining companion and I each ordered French Onion Soup to start.  This is one of my favorite things to order, so I have had many a crock of French Onion to compare it to.  It was quite good; it wasn't too salty and there was plenty of cheese, just how I like. I ordered the Tex Mex Wrap, which was quite spicy!!! Filled with blackened chicken, avacado, beans & onions this wrap was definitely filling.  My friend ordered the Greek Souvlaki, which is grilled marinated lamb, tzataki, tomato & onion on a pita.  It was too large to pick up and eat but she said that she enjoyed it as well.

All and all I'd recommend Karla's as a decent lunchtime meal if you are looking for something inexpensive and  cute.  Also, they have breakfast every Sunday from 8 AM until noon featuring everything from french toast to pecan sticky buns to eggs benedict.
