mlk dreamWith his message continually being spread around the world, Martin Luther King Jr. is honored on the third Monday of January every year. As a dedication to his peaceful activism in the civil rights movement, people all around the world honor him with this day.

Being involved in outreach in Bucks County is one way to honor the sense of community for which Dr. King worked so hard. Here are a few events where you can assist and create a bond with family, friends, and neighbors.

Join the Langhorne Rotary for their annual MLK Pasta and Meatballs Buffet from 4:30pm to 8:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 per person 13 years old and up, $5.00 per child 12 and under, and free for children 3 and under. Proceeds go towards the Rotary Foundation program to eradicate polio. The event will be held at St. James Episcopal Church Hall, 330 Bellevue Ave, Langhorne.

CB Cares' Days of Service is kicking off their volunteering with the annual MLK Day of Service, with it's opening ceremony that honors the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. The ceremony starts at 9:00am at the Second Baptist Church at 6055 Swamp Rd, Fountainville. While volunteers are required to register, there are plenty of opportunities for all from putting together dinners for the needy to participating in inter-generational game time.

Or maybe you want to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. with dance at the Central Bucks Family YMCA at 2500 Lower State Rd, Doylestown. Teens and tweens from grades 4 through 12 are invited to dance with purpose. Starting on Sunday, January 20th from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. The dance raises funds in support of the Y's MLK Day of Service project, which benefits the Bucks County Housing Group. The suggested participation fee is $15.

The Bucks County Children's Museum will be open in honor of MLK Day from 10:00am – 4:00pm. They will also be donating $2 of each admission ticket to EverWonder Children's Museum in Newtown, CT.

Join The Bucks County Communitee on Interracial Harmony, Interfaith Community of Lower Bucks, Bucks County Human Relations Council, and The pPeace Center to help create the beloved community here in Bucks County. The time will consist of dialogue on how to create about community. Events will be taking place at the Bristol Senior Center (2501 Bath Rd, Ste 1, Bristol) and at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church (127 E. Court St, Doylestown) from 3:00pm – 5:30pm.
